Instruction for the competitors

Competition Center (CC)

Competition Center at the gymnasium in Ascona, with changing rooms, showers, toilets

(indoor and outdoor), anti-doping control, information desk, informatics, kindergarten, first-aid, tent including full kitchen and refreshment stand.

station take the bus no. 1 direction Ascona. It is mandatory to get off at the stop "Barragie" and follow the signs to the CC (approx. 8 minutes walk). private Transports: Highway until the exit “Bellinzona Sud”. Follow the A13 direction Locarno until the exit “Ascona”. After the roundabout follow the signposted route. Please follow the directions of the people in charge.

Parking at the former airport of Ascona, approx. 10 minutes from the CC, free

parking. Information Desk at the CC. Open on Saturday from 11.00am and Sunday from 7.00am - Rental of SI-Card (CHF 2.--) - Change of SI-Card (free) - DE - HE - D20 - H20: sign declaration of acceptance of anti-doping

rules to those who have not yet done it (and collection of number bib) Only for Naz A of Ascona (29.04.2012): - Change of name and classes – restricted (CHF 10.--) - Registration of Open classes (CHF 15.--) - Additional map only for Open classes (CHF 5.--) - Order of the results list (CHF 5.--) - Collection of the number bibs for the classes DE and HE

Number Bibs without number bib you cannot start.

Collection: Self-service in front of the gym, valid for both days, except for the classes DE-HE.

please note: Those who start in a different class on Sunday that on Saturday need a new bib.

MOM: competitors with the number bib with a black background have the right to take the bus to the start.

First-Aid at the CC Results displayed at the CC and published on the Swiss Orienteering website

(Saturday from 8.00pm, Sunday from 3.00pm) Award ceremony saturday April, 28 at 6.30pm in the tent (first three in each class),

Awards will be given only to those present and will not be sent sunday April, 29 souvenir prize for everybody.

At 12.30 award ceremony [ECHT BIO.]-OL-Grand Prix 2012, in the tent, only for the classes DE – HE – D20 – H20

Refreshment stand saturday open from 11.30 am and offers sandwiches, salami, cheese,

cakes, fruit salad, ice cream, drinks and coffee. Sunday open from 7.00 am, possibility to have breakfast

Notice: NAZ Ascona, P2: walk of 70 m involving the crossing of a street, we invite you to move quickly by following the instruction of the staff

Minute – 1: Start Check with a SI unit, place yourself in front of your box with the maps of your class; do not touch the map before the signal.

Start: Take a map of your own class (the competitor is responsible for taking the right map) and follow the taped route to the starting point (control flag).

Latecomers the latecomers have to announce to the responsible of the pre-start at

the sign ‘ritardatari/verspätete Läufer’ and follow his instructions. Open Classes OK – OM – OL only at the Naz Ascona (29.04.2012) – Start 2 (P2).

on the map and show it at the Si-card reading point.

Forbidden areas forbidden areas are marked on the map and must be respected. Finish taped route from last control to the finish. All the competitors must

punch the control at the finish line. SI-card reading at the CC Complaints / at the CC the competition judge will answer at first instance to any appeals problems with the SI-card reading or other. Appeals must be submitted in writing with the claim form that you can

find at the information desk at the CC not later than 1 hour after the close of finish.

Those who request the reading of a SI-station must pai a deposit a caution of 20.- CHF.

Anti-doping The current statute of the Swiss Olympic anti-doping applies. Controls

may be done in every class. By signing in every participant automatically recognizes the anti-doping rules. For the classes DE - HE - D20 - H20 it is mandatory to sign the declaration of acceptance. For those who have not yet done so, it is necessary to sign such statement before starting. The forms for the declaration can be obtained at the information desk or on the webpage www.swiss-orienteering.ch (Wettkämpfe > Dopinginformation).

GPS GPS data loggers with no display or audible feedback can be used. Disqualification Competitors not observing the instruction for the competitors may be

disqualified Insurance Paid by the participants. The organization declines all responsibility.

Out of bounds Art 53 of the WO, allows the organizer to give access to the race area

the day before and until the race day at 7.30am. The city center of Ascona is declared out of bounds for all competitors on Sunday April 29, 2012 from 7.30 to 12.00 am. Who is staying overnight in the city center of Ascona, has to leave the out of bounds area by 7.30 am (see map). Those entering the out of bounds area Sunday April 29, 2012 after 7.30am are disqualified. Controls will be performed.

Competition clothing only normal running shoes are allowed, spikes shoes are prohibited.
