Tie-Dye

and The LinkWHAT THEY ARE

Both The Link and Tie-Dye

are published to increase

communication and

 visibility of the happenings

of FOP. The Link is the

official monthly newsletter. It contains submissions from

FOP staff, parents and

students as well as

chronicling the monthly

events of the school. The

Tie-Dye was started as a

 weekly communications

piece to assist PAG, Teachers

and the Charter Research

Committee as a weekly

newsletter to assist in their

communication needs. The

Tie-Dye is the creation of the

communications committee

and does not accept

submissions, but does accept

topical recommendations.

Tie-Dye Mission

and Vision:The goal of the communicationcommittee is to unify ourcommunication within ourschool community. This willhelp to open thecommunication between thedifferent committees and the

wider populations of parents without making the parentsfeel as though they arecontinuously bombarded withinformation from all angles, oroppositely leaving themuninformed.

After meeting and carefully considering our goal, we havedeveloped the following Visionand Mission Statement.

Vision- The ongoing successof  Open Plan must besupported by frequent, timely and reliable information on allaspects of program activity resulting in transparency andan active/engaged parentcommunity. Mission- Our Mission is two-fold:1) To energize and engage ourFOP community by providing

clear concise communicationsfocused on the priorities of FOP.2) To transform our FOPcommunity  from  wanting to beinformed to  wanting to beinvolved. It is important tounderstand that our proposedcommunications committee

was developed for the school asa whole. We see our role asrepresenting information thatneeds to be communicated toand from parents, PAG,committees, the public, theprinciple, and the teachers. We will not be attempting to steerdecisions or influence support/resistance for any onestakeholder group. Our solepurpose is to give impartialand factual information to ourcommunity as a support forFOP as a whole.
