Weekly rainfall and river flow summary Weekly bulletin: Wednesday 3 to Tuesday 9 June 2020 Summary: With rain falling across most parts of England over the past week, river flows have increased at the majority of sites we report on, and were classed as normal for the time of year at half of the sites. Rainfall It has been a wetter week across England, particularly in the north-east and north-west, with rainfall totals ranging from 8mm in south-east England to 29mm in north-east England (Table 1 and Figure 1). June rainfall totals range from 16% of the monthly long term average (LTA) in south-east England to 59% in north-east England (Table 1). River flow River flows have increased at nearly three quarters of the key sites that we report on, compared to the previous week. The latest daily mean river flows were classed as normal or below normal for the time year at just over three quarters of the sites (Figure 2). Outlook The unsettled weather will continue on Thursday with showers in places, followed by more persistent rain moving in from the east later in the day. The showers will continue across most parts on Friday and will be locally heavy and thundery. On Saturday bands of heavy showers will spread north-west across all parts, with further showers following on Sunday. Unsettled weather is expected to continue in most places on Monday and Tuesday. Weekly rainfall and river flow summary

Weekly bulletin: Wednesday 3 to Tuesday 9 June 2020

Summary: With rain falling across most parts of England over the past week, river flows have increased at the majority of sites we report on, and were classed as normal for the time of year at half of the sites.

Rainfall

It has been a wetter week across England, particularly in the north-east and north-west, with rainfall totals ranging from 8mm in south-east England to 29mm in north-east England (Table 1 and Figure 1). June rainfall totals range from 16% of the monthly long term average (LTA) in south-east England to 59% in north-east England (Table 1).

River flow

River flows have increased at nearly three quarters of the key sites that we report on, compared to the previous week. The latest daily mean river flows were classed as normal or below normal for the time year at just over three quarters of the sites (Figure 2).

Outlook
