Sixth Form Sixth Form Dress

All students are reminded that our dress code is business

smart. All students should wear a jacket. Jeans, trainers and/or

hoodies are not acceptable attire for school. Male students

must wear a tie at all times. Female students must ensure skirts

or dresses are of an appropriate length. Students who do not

adhere to the Sixth Form Dress Code may be issued with a

Friday 3-5pm detention.

Sixth Form Assessment Week for Year 12 and PPE Week

for Year 13 – Monday 19th February to Friday 23rd

February

All students will sit an examination style task in each of their

subjects. Students should ensure they are well-prepared and

that their classwork and homework notes are in order. They

should discuss topics that they need to revise with subject

teachers and ensure that they begin their revision as soon as

possible.

Year 13 PPE Results Afternoon

Following the Year 13 PPE week all Year 13 students will

receive their results during assembly on Monday 12th March.

Sixth Form Open Evening

The deadline for applications to the Sixth Form will be Friday

2nd March.

University Taster Courses and Summer Schools

A number of taster courses and summer schools are being

offered by universities across the country. These are a fantastic

opportunity for students to gain an insight into the topic they

may wish to study at university and attendance looks very

favourable on UCAS applications. Students should see a

member of the sixth form team for further support and

guidance.

Sixth Form Parents’ Meetings

Dates for your Diaries Our next Year 12 Parents’ Meetings take

place on Tuesday 6th March. Our next Year 13 Parents’

Meetings take place on Tuesday 13th March.

Sixth Form Bursary Fund

Our Sixth Form Bursary Fund is open throughout the school

year to support students who are experiencing financial

difficulties. Students should see a member of the Sixth Form

team for an application form.

Sixth Form Progress Reports on the VLE

Your son/daughter’s latest Progress Report is now available to

Friends of LPSB 2018 is well and truly underway and Friends of Langley are

busy with their 2018 schedule of events. Here are some

dates that you will want to put in your calendar:

On Friday 9th February, it’s the Friends annual Donut Day

fundraiser (alongside own-clothes day which separately

raises money for Unicef). The boys ADORE this event so

don’t forget to make sure your son has some cash with

him Feb 9th to purchase donuts. We always need help

on the day. It’s a crazy but wonderful fundraiser; we

guarantee you will LOVE helping out. If you can spare

some time between 1pm to 3.15pm, please get in touch.

Following the huge success of our 2017 Race Night, we’re

running the event again this year. The date is Friday

18th May - mark it in the calendar now. We are looking

for a Race Night Sponsor. Are you interested? If so, con-

tact us.

This year, the Friends will be helping out at sports events by

providing refreshments at home games. These games

are typically run on Saturday mornings. If you are usu-

ally on the sideline for that part of the week, why not

come and help us serve teas, coffees, juices, cakes etc.?

You will get to see the game whilst raising funds for the

school and do not need to commit to each Saturday.

Send us an email to let us know your availability. Get in

touch -

We are also planning a boot/table top sale. We haven’t fixed

a date yet but if you have been involved with this type

of fundraiser in the past, please get in touch. We would

love your experience.

For any of the above, get in touch by emailing: mdun-

[email protected]

Finally, we bid a fond farewell to Lydia Davies

who is the woman responsible for putting the

Langley Christmas Market on the map! Lydia

has done an amazing job as a Friend for years

and Nov 26th 2017 was her last Langley Christ-

mas market. It was, as always, a massive success

raising over £6,500 for the school. Goodbye

Lydia, we shall miss you.
