Facebook offers Rs 38 lakhpackage for IIT Madras students

Social networking site Facebook has offered a package of Rs 38 lakh (USD 85,000) for IIT Madras students during the ongoing placement season, a top official of the institute said.

However, Facebook leads the chart with a package of Rs 38 lakh, IIT Madras Advisor (Training and Placement). Facebook after conducting all the rounds, will conduct another interview via Skype from the US and when a student gets selected he/she will be offered USD 85,000 package,"around 1000 students from various streams including B Tech, MTech, MS, Doctoral programmes, MBA, have registered for placements this year and so far around 30 students have received offers from various multi-national companies including Goldman Sachs, IBM and Boston Consulting Group . ast year the highest package was offered by Tower Research Capital at Rs 28 lakh per annum and about 225 companies had visited the institute for selecting 700 candidates.

Buyers put brakes on world’s cheapest car ‘Nano Sales of the Nano, launched by Tata Motors to much fanfare in

Indian auto sales rose 45% in October. Two-extra-coaches-to-ease-rush-on Delhi Metro

Looking to decongest trains, the Delhi Metro Sunday said it will add two coaches to the four-coach trains on the Dwarka-Noida line by December-end.

The additional coaches will be able to carry about 600 more passengers per train trip.

Subsequently, six-coach trains will be introduced on the Jahangirpuri-Gurgaonline to increase their carrying capacity. The Delhi Metro has started trial runs on the Dwarka-Noida line so that they (six-coach trains) are put into service before the end of December," he said.

He said a team of engineers and contractors were involved in the process of converting the four-coach trains into six-coach trains.

"Several rounds of tests have been conducted. Addition of two coaches to existing trains will not lead to any technical glitches,"

Galaxy Tab sales hit 1 million,

Samsung has sold 1 million Galaxy Tab tablet devicesworldwide just two months after putting it on sale outside the U.S., and all four major wireless U.S. carriers starting sales in mid-November, according to a report.

The larger 9.7-inch screen Apple iPad tablet hit the 1 million sold mark just one month after going on sale in April. Nonetheless, the Samsung sales results show that the Android-based, 7-inch touchscreen of the Galaxy Tab is indeed popular as well. Samsung was shown to be the biggest mobile device manufacturer selling to U.S. buyers in the latest ComScore survey, released Friday. Of 30,000 people surveyed, 24.2% said they are were using a Samsung phone or other Samsung mobile device.
