Prices are not fixed and haggling is common Cash Memos are not kept or issued by the

vendors After purchasing, customers are also not careful

about proof of purchase from a particular vendor

Regulatory environment is almost absent Both – vendors and consumers are carefree Because of the above features, Consumer

Protection Act, 1986, may not be invoked in most cases.

Get permanent addresses of the vendors by assuring continued relationship

For cheating, fraud, etc., criminal proceedings may be initiated by lodging complaint with police & local authorities
