Summer program begins on Monday, June 11th and ends Thursday, July 25, 2012. Students will explore ideas on creation care during the hours of 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM that include academically challenging projects, weekly physical activities, fine arts activities, arts and crafts and wacky science experiments. Moe information will go home with students on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Until then, if you would like more information, please feel free to contact the office at 773-264-2174. Math, Science and Technology Fair RCS will host its math, science and technology fair Fri., April 27 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Mrs. Flory will have a workshop Tues., April 17 students can learn about science projects, get free stuff, and pizza! Market Day Thanks for your orders this month. Market Day pick-up is tomorrow April 18, 2012 between 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. 8th Grade Students Important Dates April 27 2nd Payment of Fees Parents Please Note: All tuition obligations must be met in order for 8th graders to participate in any graduation activities RCS Open House If you have friends and family members who have pre-school and elementary school aged children, please invite them to join us for our Spring Open House on Friday, April 27 th from 4-7pm. This would be the perfect opportunity for them to see for themselves the great things that God is doing at our school! As you know, we offer a Bible-based curri- culum, daily prayer, competitive test scores and classes from Preschool to 8 th grade. We have attach- ed a flyer with more information. Feel free to for- ward it to everyone you know! Also, don’t forget about our Tuition Referral Rebate Program which makes you eligible for a $1,000 credit towards your tuition if you refer a prospective family that enrolls at RCS. Contact the Advancement Office for more information. American Red Cross of Greater Chicago Basic Aid Training (BAT) Grades 6-8 will have a program Monday, April 30 for about an hour to learn basic First Aid and personal safety. They will also be introduced to drug abuse preven- tion. RCS Praying Parents If you would like to become a part of this growing parent group, please come join the praying parents of RCS, Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. in the all-purpose room and Sundays at 6:00 p.m. on the phone bridge. Dentist Mobile The Illinois State Board of Ed. requires students in kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grade to have an Oral Health Examination on file in the school office. Parents if you would like your child examined by a licensed dentist, the dentist mobile will be at RCS Tuesday, May 8. Applications were sent home a couple of weeks ago; don’t forget to return your completed application to the office as soon as possible. This exam will meet dental requirement. RCS Walk-a-thon The RCS Walk-a-thon is scheduled for May 10 and 11. On May 10, preschool and kindergarten will be walking at Fernwood Park near school. On May 11, the older children will be walking in the Tinley Creek forest preserve at 162nd and Central Ave. If any parent or relative would like to walk with the students, please plan to come. If a parent would like a t-shirt, please call 773-264-2174 to tell us what size shirt you need. You can also email your shirt size to [email protected]. If you do not let us know your shirt size, we may not have a shirt for you. Free Parenting Classes If you or anyone you know is interested in attending parenting classes please see the information below for more details. Note that these classes are FREE OF CHARGE and will satisfy court requirements.
