IMPORTANT AND UPCOMING INFORMATION
THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL AT CDW will be held on Wednesday, June 4th during both lunch periods. In past years, the CDW student body and staff had the opportunity to taste foods from various countries including Armenia, Argentina, China, Cuba, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea and Palestine. We are looking for volunteers to participate by heading up a country. For more information please contact Linda Chu at [email protected].

THE OTPTO IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE TD BANK AFFINITY PROGRAM. TD Bank Affinity program offers us the opportunity of raising funds for the OTPTO just by having a TD Bank Account. May 8 – Mark DeBenedictis, with Bergen County Special Services, will provide a presentation to students and parents. Students will be during school and parents at 7PM at CDW in Lynch Gym. May 8 – OTPTO Nominations are due. May 12th Week – Third and Fourth grade students will be engaged in NJASK testing during this week. May 22 – Third & Fourth Grade Spring Concert at 7PM. May 22 – OTPTO General Meeting – Important Officer Election Meeting May 29th & 30th – 2nd Graders will be enjoying Space Day activities. May 30 – Kindergarten Round Up June 4 – CDW International Food Festival June 5 – 4th Grade Band Concert June 6 – Field Day June 17 – CDW 8th Grade Graduation at NVOT Auditorium at 5PM. June 19- 4th Grade Crossing Over Ceremony (9AM) June 20 – Final day for students

Mark DeBenedictis is a knowledgeable and very engaging presenter on one of the most
prevalent topics today—Internet Safety and Cyber Bullying. He has created and designed this
unique workshop to fit the needs of his audiences. Mark has been employed with the Bergen
County Special Services School District for the past seven years in the Assistive Technology
Dept. as an adaptive computer specialist. He is also a presenter for the Bergen County
Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) which provides professional development for
educators.
* Mark DeBenedictis will be presenting to TBD 3rd/4th graders and CDW 5th/6th graders earlier in the day.

I want to help decide how PTO fundraising moneys are spent.
I want all the students at TBD & CDW be successful.
I want to make a difference for my child.
If the above statements are true, then “help us help the school”. Parent involvement is critical for a successful school, so volunteer as a PTO officer or a committee chair for 2014-2015. There are jobs that take no more than a couple hours a month, some are that are seasonal, and a few that require a routine commitment.
Dedicated teachers, staff, and PARENTS help make TBD & CDW great schools! Join us – it’s rewarding, it’s important, it’s even fun!
All elected members join the board as general executive board members. Together, the board determines individual responsibilities and executive officer incumbents. If you have any questions, please contact any current board member.
Elections will be held at the PTO General Meeting on Thursday, May 22th
at 9:15AM at the Old Tappan Public Library. All candidates for officer positions must be current registered OTPTO members .
