The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 allows students to receive Federal Pell Grant funds for up to 150 percent of the student’s Pell Grant Scheduled Award for an award year. This provision is effective beginning with the 2017-2018 financial aid award year.

To qualify for Year Round Summer Pell award the student must be enrolled in 6 credit hours during Summer term. Summer awards will be based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours) and award amounts will be adjusted or canceled once enrollment is confirmed and academic progress is reviewed. If a student is enrolled in 6 credit hours and drops a 3 credit hour course, this will make them ineligible for the additional Year Round Pell award.

WorkSource Georgia Mountains (WSGM) (formerly Georgia Mountains Workforce Development) administers the WIOA program which assists with costs related to training: (including but not limited to the following) books, tuition, fees, general supplies, tools, uniforms and shoes, certification, licensing, testing fees, drug testing for entrance into training, medical requirements for training entrance, etc. WSGM also assists with supportive services such as transportation and child care

Those interested in assistance through WSGM should attend the “Need Money for College” overview session. Sessions are held the 2nd
