December 18, 2019 2019-2020 Issue 18 Our Lady of Guadalupe School In the MSJ Dominican Tradition Dear OLG Families, A most Blessed Christmas to each of you and may the New Year fill you with abundant Joy! Our Christmas Program is shaping up to be a very fine celebration of this wondrous season! Thank you to all the children, their teachers, our accompanist, Tia Fernandes, gr. 7, and our Director, Ms. Robin Snyder! Children need to be in their classrooms at 6:30PM; doors to the Parish Center will open at 6:35PM. Thank you to all our families who have contributed to the food drive. We will still collect items at the program tomorrow night at the Parish Center. One of the St. Vincent de Paul members told me how grateful they are at the abundance from our families! Let’s keep sharing that abundance with those in need in our community. Thank you also to our families who have shopped on AmazonSmile and chosen OLG School as their charity. We just received $85 from them! And Thank you to our families who have marked OLG School as part of a matching grant with their place of work. You have been generous to us and we are most grateful. If you do a matching grant with your company, please let us know. The funds usually come through a third party and the donor is not always identified. We do want to thank you. On Friday, we will have our Advent Retreat for the children. Part of the retreat will involve a Faith Family experience, so we invite all the children to wear their Faith Family tee-shirts. They should wear their PE sweats with these FF tee-shirts. Thank you to Ms. Traci Colon and all the classroom teachers for making this special Advent Retreat possible for our children! In our world that is so in need of the Savior, we too often slide over the true meaning of Christmas. This retreat will give our students that opportunity to really focus on the Reason for the season. School will resume on Monday, January 6, 2020. May these days be blessed ones for all our OLG Community! Know that you are held in prayer by your Dominican Sisters daily, and especially during this Holy Season. In God’s Peace, S. Janice Therese, O.P.
