    Coca-Cola Centre Thursday forthe Grande Prairie Athleticsin their North Peace HockeyLeague game against theValleyview Jets.

    At least it was for everyoneother than Jason Jubb.

    Eleven dierent Athletics

    skaters scored goals in thegame, and 17 of the 18 Asskaters recorded at least onepoint, with Jubb being the onlyexception.

    Hey, someone had to focuson defence, to ensure DaveLarson picked up his secondshutout of the season.

    Hockey League handed out its

    hardware for the 2011-2012regular season and a coupleGrande Prairie Kings werehonoured.

    Assistant captain NolanTrudeau and Fort St. JohnHuskies forward Robbie Sidhuwere named co-winners of theleague Most Valuable Playeraward.

    The two have been in a battlefor the scoring title all seasonlong, at least until this pastweekend. Sidhu racked up 10

    points in two games against theBeaverlodge Blades to give him82 points in 29 games played(31 goals, 51 assists). He nowsits 14 points clear of Trudeau(29gp, 30g, 38a).

    The other King to behonoured by the league isCorey Wamsteeker, who wasnamed the NWJHL Rookie ofthe Year.

    Wamsteeker sits third overallin league scoring, with 28 goalsand 27 assists, for 55 points injust 24 games played.

    As not quite perfect

    The Grande Prairie Athleticswent into Friday nights NorthPeace Hockey League regularseason nale with only onething to play for: A perfecthome record. The As were10-0-0 at the Coca-Cola Centreheading into their game againstthe Fort St. John Flyers. The

    Flyers won, 3-1.Eleven apparently is not agood number for the As. Theyalso started the 2011-2012season a perfect 10-0-0 overall,before falling to the FalherPirates 6-5 in a shootout.

    Good thing the playos areonly best-of-seven series.

    Those start Tuesday, with theAs hosting Hythe. The DHT willpreview the game in Tuesdayspaper.

    Peck mushes to second

    Jackson, Wyoming Localdog sledder Aaron Pecknished second overall at the2012 International PedigreeStage Stop Sled Dog Race, withan aggregate time of 20:09:27over the seven-stage event.

    Peck placed no worse thanfth in any of the full stages(Day 1 was a time trial throughJackson), and won Day 6, in atime of with a time of

    2:59:01 the only racer tobreak the three-hour barrier

    that day.Peck improved upon histhird-place nish of 2011.

    Blayne Bud Streeper fromFort Nelson, B.C., was theoverall winner of the event,posting a time of 19:52.42.It was Streepers thirdconsecutive title, and fourth ofhis career. He also won the racein 2004.

    The International PedigreeStage Stop Sled Dog Race, thelargest dog sled race in the

    lower 48 states, was foundedin 1996.

    Craig ies like an Eagle

    Lakeland Eagles forwardCraig Anderson won the NorthPeace Hockey League 2011-2012 scoring race, with 51 goalsand 46 assists for 97 points.

    With his 95 points for theEagles (he had two assistsfor the Horse Lake Chiefs)Anderson was in on 52.4%of the Eagles goals this year.The team scored a total of 181goals .

    Jamie Robinson, with a pair,Rob Takala and Brendan Millerhad the Mustang goals.

    The As now have a 2-1 serieslead with Game 4 scheduled forTuesday night in Hythe. In theNPHL, teams alternate home

    ice for every game. The hometeam has won every game inthis series.

    forward Nolan Trudeau has wonthe North West Junior HockeyLeague scoring race, in one ofthe most incredible late seasoncharges in league history.

    Trudeau trailed Fort St.Johns Robbie Sidhu by 14

    points heading into the naltwo weeks of the regularseason, but scored 22 points inthe nal two weeks, including17 in the past four games, tobeat Sidhu by three points.

    Trudeau nished with 43goals and 47 assists.

    Sidhu picked up only vepoints in his teams nal fourgames to nish with 87 (32g,55a).

    Trudeau and Sidhu werenamed co-winners of theleague MVP award two weeksago.
