Your support of this appeal helps ease the struggle of these dioceses. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this appeal. SEASON OF GREAT LENT - Monday, February 24, is Ash Monday, the be-ginning of the Season of Great Lent. Anyone who has blessed palms from Palm Sunday last year, please bring them to the church office or to the church by February 16. We will be burning them to use in the Ash Monday service. Liturgy on Ash Monday will be at 7:00 PM followed by a Mjaddra dinner at the MCC benefiting the MYO. - Join us every Friday at 7:00 PM during the sea-son of Great Lent for the Stations and Benedic-tion of the Holy Cross. A Lenten potluck meal will follow at the MCC. - More information about our activities during the Season of Great Lent will follow. EPARCHIAL LENTEN REGULATIONS Remember Ash Monday (February 24) and Great Friday of the Crucifixion (April 10th) is a day of abstinence for all healthy Maronites over the age of 14 and also days of fast for those age 18-59. Abstinence means no eating of meat. Fast means no food may be consumed from midnight to noon. All Fridays of Great Lent are days of absti-nence.

Mission for today” Capital Campaign. Your attendance at the Sunday, March 8, 2020 Liturgy, gathering, and Capital Campaign Presentation is greatly recommended and appre-ciated. A message from Bishop Elias Zaidan Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am excited to announce that we are officially in the public phase for our Vision for the Future – Mission for Today Capital Campaign. This Campaign is vitally important to all of us as an Eparchy and individual parishes. It will provide the necessary resources to fuel our mission and vision today, tomorrow and for generations to come. Please take some time to review the materials shared in this week’s bulletin and prayerfully consider what you can give over the next three years to support these campaign priorities. This is also an invi-tation to reflect upon how your giving is a reflection of your faith and ask yourself these questions: How meaningful is our Maronite faith? Are we willing to commit? Are we faithful in our responsibilities as followers of Jesus, or are we remiss in our duties? Are we generous in sharing with the Church our blessings that come from the hands of a merciful and benevolent God? God calls us to be good stewards of our gifts and to share generously of our Time, Talents and Treasure. Stewardship is about our re-sponse to God’s invitation – it is a concrete action or series of ac-tions, what we do after we say “We Believe.”
It will take the participation of everyone as good stewards in our Eparchy for our campaign to succeed and everyone will be asked to participate. Our success will not be as a result of equal gifts but equal sacrifice. Whether you can give $5 a month or $500 a month or even more over three years each gift brings us closer to reaching our goal. Reaching our goal of $15 million will ensure our Eparchy is spiritually and financially strong but that success depends on you. Remember those who came before us who gave so generously to ensure we have the “Missions, Ministries and Ministers” we are blessed with today. Now it’s our turn to take care of future gener-ations so that, 50 years from now, your grandchildren can give thanks to God for the faith and generosity of the people sitting here today. During my upcoming visit, I look forward to personally sharing more details about this historic effort that will benefit all our parishes and Maronite people. It is my hope to gain your commitment that weekend so we can count your support with the others already received and make continued progress towards our goal. With profound gratitude and the assurance of my prayers, I remain
+ A. Elias Zaidan Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles
