Dear St Joey’s School Community, Whilst reading on the weekend, I found an article by author/speaker Margaret Wheatley very interesting and would like to share a snippet of what she writes. A few simple practices in attending to your personal spiritual health: 1. Start your day off peacefully. I've learned that I can't expect to find peace at work. However peaceful I am as I enter the office, that's probably my peak peaceful experience of the day. So I have a strong motivation to find peace before work. 2. Learn to be mindful. Anytime you can keep yourself from instantly reacting, anytime you can pause for just a second, you are practicing mindfulness. Instead of letting your reactions and thoughts lead you, you step back and realise you can choose your reaction. 3. Slow things down. If you can't slow down a group or meeting, you can at least slow down yourself. 4. Create your own measures. We all would prefer to be better people. We don't like to be angry, fearful, or to be creating more problems for other people. What are our personal measures? I use the question "am I turning toward or away" as a personal measure of good behaviour. 5. Expect surprise. We're old enough now to know that life will keep interrupting our plans and surprising us at every turn of the way. It helps to notice this wisdom that we've been forced to accumulate. Surprise is less traumatic once we accept it as a fact of life. 6. Practice Gratefulness. Most of us have been taught this, but how often do you take time, daily, to count your blessings? The wonder of this process is that as we take this daily inventory, we grow in gratefulness. We start to notice more and more people who helped us, grace that appeared, little miracles that saved us from danger. Term 2 School Accounts All Term 2 accounts have been issued via email. If you did not receive your account, please make contact with the school office. Accounts were emailed from PCHIFinance.

Our school photos will be taken on the 1

st June 2016.

For the convenience of our school community, school photos can be ordered and paid for online using a secure online platform. Orders placed online DO NOT require an envelope, cash/cheques or paperwork returned to school.Envelope Orders: photos can also be purchased in the traditional manner using an envelope, with cash/cheque enclosed. The preference of our school is that orders and payments be made online, as this reduces the administration and associated security issues related to the return of cash & envelopes on photo day. To place your order visit www.advancedlife.com.au and enter the code- [CCB ERC 6HL]. This code can also be found printed on your envelope. Please be aware that- Sibling/Family Photos can be ordered online or via envelope. To ensure a smoothly run photo day, online orders for Sibling/Family Photos will be cut off at 12.00 a.m. the night before our photo day to allow a list of students that require Sibling/Family Photographs taken to be compiled. Sibling photos can still be ordered after the online cut off date by collecting an envelope from the office and returning the envelope on photo day with your payment enclosed. 1.All online orders should be placed on or before our day of photography. 2The online code above may also be used to order sports and other group photos.

All orders placed online will be delivered to the school for collection

Above: During the Arts Enrichment program on Thursday, our young artists were exploring how to create trees and flowers without using a paintbrush. These techniques will be used in their final artwork. Next week we will include an update on the Touch program which occurs every Tuesday afternoon.

CORPUS CHRISTI MASS and PROCESSION

The Procession will commence in the grounds of the Sacred Heart Parish, following Mass, and will continue around the external perimeter of the Parish grounds. It has been several years since a procession has been held at the Childers Parish, to celebrate Corpus Christi, and this will be a great opportunity for Parishioners and Visitors from other Parishes, to attend this special Mass and participate in the Procession.
