Any one choosing the website option would have to know how to use software to create a website OTHERWISE DON’T CHOOSE IT!

Page 6: Week 3 Production Portfolio

DON’T CHOOSE WHAT YOU’RE DOING YET!

• Firstly, decide who you’re going to work with – MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION – Final say is with Mrs. Raji

• Make sure everyone in your group has THEIR OWN artist idea (Worksheet filled in and biography written)

• Share your artists or band and discuss if you want to choose one of those? or create a brand new one?

• If you create a new one write a new biography

Time to get moody!• Do you know what a mood board is?• There are examples in class• You need to create a mood board for your artist• The board needs to communicate who your artist is and

what their album (music) would be like and also who their fans are it should express their style, personality and music genre (hence it creates a mood!)

• We don't want too much writing – lots of pictures and images GET CREATIVE & MAKE IT LOOK GOOD

• You will have to present your mood board to the class and tell them and Mrs. Raji about your artist

Page 8: Week 3 Production Portfolio

Target audience• You will need to have an audience profile

completed to explain who your artist or band would appeal to. Look at the example

create and what genre of music they are are going to make. So now you need to research similar artists.

• You can present this work in any format you would like –BUT remember to make it look good!

HOMEWORK: Researching similar artists

• Choose two artists that are similar to yours and complete the following:

• Who are the two artists?• What kind of music do they make (genre)?• What can you tell me about that genre of music? – Where did it come from?– Is it a mix of genres?– What kind of mood/ atmosphere does it have?

• Who is the target audience for your artist? What are their fans like? (e.g. Rhianna has The Navy and Nikki Minaj has The Barbs)

Page 13: Week 3 Production Portfolio

HOMEWORK: Researching similar artists

• What kind of clothes do these artists wear? Why? Is it unique to them? Or do they wear the fashion for the music genre?

• How does your artist act? what is their behaviour like? On and off stage? Does this go with the genres of music?

• Is there a message in their music? Are their songs typically about the same thing? Why or why not? Find the lyrics for one of their songs and describe what the song is about.
