MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING On March 3rd at 6:30pm in the Globe Auditorium, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Florida is partnering with Florida State University’s UMADD Chapter and the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, Inc. to host a screening of the documentary “Impact: After the Crash.” The feature documentary explores the horrific Carrolton, KY bus crash of May 14, 1988 which killed 27 people (mostly children) and injured nearly three dozen others. The Kentucky tragedy became nationally known, not only because of the devastation it caused, but also because this incident became a catalyst for the anti-drunk driving movement. Following the film, there will be a Q&A session with a panel of experts. This is the first time the film will ever be shown in Florida. Check out the Facebook page here. More information can be obtained by contacting Janel Robinson at [email protected].

MEANINGFUL AND HAPPY LIFE We live in a globalized world where technology allows for an unlimited stream of information. Society promotes that instant gratification and material possessions are often the measure of one’s wealth. But what brings happiness to one’s life? What makes life meaningful? Rafael Batista, 4th year student studying Psychology and International Affairs, is exploring the key differences between a happy life and a meaningful life and how these ideas are reflected across cultures for his undergraduate thesis under the direction of Dr. Roy Baumeister. Reflect on these questions as they apply to your life and contribute to this project by visiting: https://fsu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0MJYb5CURv4tfhj. For more information, contact Rafael at [email protected].
