FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Yesterday, our Leadership Team spent time, at the
Regional Office, planning for the term ahead. As a team,
we considered our school priorities and how our school
is tracking in relation to the targets we set at the
beginning of the year. We also spent time with a Data
Coach from the Department of Education, going through
a variety of data sets, most of which showed really
pleasing results.
We recently had our staff team complete a survey about
the positive aspects of their roles and associated
challenges. Our Leadership Team spent a considerable
portion of the day considering staff feedback and
devising ways we can continue making Swan Hill Primary
School a great place to work and learn. I feel really
grateful to be surrounded by such a hard-working,
dedicated and enthusiastic Leadership Team, and look
forward to the great things we have planned for Term 3.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the
Leadership and Administration Team for continuing to
perform their roles exceptionally well, despite the
challenges presented by having a makeshift work
environment, whilst the refurbishments have been
taking place. Our school community have also been
really accommodating – thank you! We are almost there
and hope to move back into the Administration Block on
the last day of this term.
Have a great week!
Hayley Doyle

5 tips for more Veg!
Looking for some ways to include some more vegetables
in your family’s diet? Try some of these delicious ideas!
Grated – Add grated carrot and zucchini to Bolognese
and other pasta sauces, use grated vegies to bulk
up rissoles, meatballs and meatloaf.
Pureed – pureed vegies make great sauces, dips and
spreads and can be added to almost anything, you
can even add them to your baking!
Half your plate – at dinner, make sure at least half your
plate is filled with vegetables, choose them in a
variety of colours and add some flavor with herbs
and spices.
Frozen vegetables – you can always have vegies on
hand to add to meals. Try adding peas and corn to
risotto, make a quick stir-fry with frozen mixed
vegetables and some lean meat or chicken, add
them to a pasta bake, quiche or frittata.
