SHANNAN CALDWELLSenior Sales Manager, Weddings and Events

A born and raised Southerner, Shannan fell in love with the art of entertaining at a young age, assisting her mother with supper clubs and holiday soirees. Shannan’s passion for events carried through to her adult life as she volunteered to help local wedding planners while attending college at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi. After graduation, Shannan immersed herself in event planning, as she refined her skills through notable positions such as Events Manager for a Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, Sales Manager for Serenbe — a farm-to-table wedding destination — and Director of Events for a destination floral and décor company.

After meeting who would soon be her husband, the two settled in the Lowcountry as Shannan continued her career with a catering and design company out of Charleston. Having spent leisure time visiting Palmetto Bluff by boat, Shannan quickly fell in love with the property and received her dream job in 2015, where she was named Catering Sales Manager of Montage Palmetto Bluff. As Shannan has a deep-rooted passion for the South, she takes pride in sharing the destination with couples from around the world.

Today, Shannan resides in Beaufort, South Carolina with her husband Shep, daughter Marion Faye and English Setter, Briar.

KELLY MATTOXSenior Wedding Manager

Kelly, a Georgia native, has had a passion for weddings since childhood. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Georgia Southern University, Kelly jump-started her career as Assistant Wedding Designer at the Cloister on Sea Island. After six years on staff, Kelly developed the Wedding Team, where her adoration for weddings and the hospitality industry grew.

When Kelly met her husband, Jonathan, the couple relocated to the Lowcountry where Kelly launched Kelly Mattox Weddings – traveling the East Coast to plan luxurious weddings for more than three years. As fate would have it, Kelly was drawn back to the hospitality industry five years ago, where she was honored to be a part of the opening team at Montage Palmetto Bluff. After serving as Conference Services Manager for four years, an opportunity for Kelly to return to her passion for weddings presented itself, thus becoming Senior Wedding Manager.

Kelly, Jonathan and their daughter, Madalyn, reside in charming Old Town Bluffton and feel so lucky to call this special Lowcountry place home.

MIRANDA RISTAUCatering and Leisure Sales Coordinator

After growing up in Orlando, Florida – the hospitality capital of the world – Miranda was a frequent visitor among the city’s adventurous theme parks, which sparked her enthusiasm with the hospitality industry. In 2015, Miranda graduated with a degree in hospitality management from the University of Central Florida. Shortly following, Miranda moved to Hilton Head Island for an internship, not realizing the impact the destination would have on her future. As she fell in love with the Lowcountry four short years ago, Miranda decided that she couldn’t see herself living anywhere else and calls the place home.

As the start of her career focused on food and beverage programming, Miranda soon realized her passion for the events industry, whenever she assisted in the coordination and execution of weddings and special celebrations. Once she collaborated her interest for the hospitality industry and polished catering skills, Miranda was appointed Montage Palmetto Bluff’s Catering and Leisure Sales Coordinator.

ALLISON NEWTONWedding Designer

Growing up in Massachusetts, Allison learned how to create and expand her creativity at a very early age. Whether it was sewing with her Grandmother or dancing competitively, Allison’s imagination was always at work. These small hobbies quickly became a passion that moved her to become a Fashion Merchandising and Retail Marketing graduate from Johnson & Wales University.

Straight out of college, Allison jumped into the events world and her passion for design grew when she became the Event & Sales Coordinator for a premier tent and event rental company in Boston, MA. During this time and throughout her eight-year career in the industry, Allison has worked alongside incredible event planners, florists and catering teams, allowing her to be involved with all aspects of the event day.

As a recent addition the Montage Palmetto Bluff team, Allison is working with the soon-to-be-weds to design and create the wedding of their dreams, ultimately transforming a space that embodies the couple’s vision to make the event truly unique. Her favorite part of a wedding weekend is seeing all of the ideas on paper unfold into reality.

TARA DAVISWedding Manager

After a rewarding career in the health and fitness industry, Tara’s passion for people and organization left her seeking a new path. During the year that Tara planned, designed and coordinated her own wedding, it became clear that she was interested in pursuing a career in the wedding industry. Tara soon enrolled in the Event Management Program at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she worked alongside top wedding planners in the city and refined her skills needed to kick-start her own business. After six years, Tara decided that it was time for a change and relocated to the Lowcountry to be closer to her family. In 2019, Tara joined the Montage Palmetto Bluff team and is responsible for planning and executing flawless weddings that will be remembered for a lifetime.
