Your dedicated Baoase planner will guide you through every step of the wedding process at Baoase Luxury Resort, Curacao. Starting with steps of interest, we will remain your contact for organizing the ceremony, reception and activities. Together we will work closely in accommodating your needs and preferences. We will ensure that you are immersed in a completely relaxing experiences throughout the process.

SELECTING THE DATE

We will be pleased to hold your preferred wedding date once a deposit is received. Please note that we only operate one wedding per day giving you our total focus and priority. May, June, September, October and November are considered the best dates since these months are considered as low season. We can offer better rates for our accommodations.

TIME FRAME

For an official ceremony, we must notify the Civil Registry office that you wish to enter into matrimony no later than two months before the Wedding. The normal application process would require that the couple spend at least 3 full days on the island prior to the wedding date.

BUDGET

We require a minimum budget of $5’000 for a ceremony and celebration up to 10 guests. The minimum event budget for party larger than 10 guests, is $10’000.

ROOM RESERVATIONS

Baoase offers an array of luxurious accommodations. Our reservations department will be pleased to assist you with room reservations of you and your guests.

For groups larger than 10 guests, we require all guests to stay at our resort in order to hold the event/celebration at our property. Our resort has a total of 23 units which consist out of standard rooms, suites and 2-3-4 bedroom villas offering accommodation for a maximum of 80 guests. Groups larger than 30 guests require a full resort buy-out. Baoase requires a minimum stay of 5 nights from all couples wishing to get married at the resort. For all other guests the minimum stay is 3 nights.

The minimum night stay at our property is 3 nights. Our guest room rates range between $575 and $6’000 depending on the accommodation type and season.

WEDDING CEREMONY

Weddings are usually held in the afternoon between 4.00—5.30 pm. The wedding ceremony can be symbolic or official. If the ceremony is to be official, the ceremony will be conducted by one of the island’s civil officiant. At the end of the ceremony you will receive your wedding license. The Registrar is prepared to include in the official ceremony a poem or text of your choosing. This can be discussed with the resort wedding coordinator prior to your wedding day. Please read more about the required information and documents for the official Application procedure on page 27.

AMAZINGLY ROMANTIC PRIVATE SETTINGS ADJUSTED TO YOUR PEFERENCES

BIBI ISLAND Bibi Island is located right in front of the resort and is accessible via two bridges.

The island is the most ideal wedding location at Baoase Luxury Resort for an intimate ceremony. It offers privacy, wind, natural shadow from the palm trees and a spectacular sunset view.

The maximum capacity for a seated wedding ceremony on Bibi Island is 80 guests.

BEACH LEFT For small or large ceremonies we offer the beach area on the left side of Baoase’s beach. From this location guests have a beautiful view on the resort’s lagoon, Bibi Island and sunset

The maximum capacity for a seated wedding ceremony on the right side of the beach depend on the fact of how many wedding guests are staying in the resort. Note that this area is normally the area where our resort guests enjoy their beach day, therefore this area needs to be cleared during the day to start the setup. We therefore only recommend this area if the couple rent the entire resort (buy-out).

BEACH RIGHT For smaller ceremonies we offer a separate area on the right side of the beach where couples can enjoy a beautiful view on the resort’s lagoon and Bibi Island.

The maximum capacity for a seated wedding ceremony on the right side of the beach is 20 guests.

MASTER VILLA The Master Villa is Baoase's most exclusive and exquisite Villa.

This luxurious villa is available on special request only and mostly used by VIP's and celebrities. From the porch it offers a spectacular view on the Ocean, Baoase Lagoon, Bibi island and its own private infinity pool.

The maximum capacity for a seated wedding ceremony is 40 guests, and for or seated reception party 80 guests and for a walking dinner or cocktail 100 guests.

BUY OUT WEDDING If your group is larger than 15 guests or if you would like to have complete privacy and have the resort fully customized to your preference, a buy-out of the resort is the best option.

In addition to privacy and the highest level of personalized service, a buy-out allows couples to truly bring their wedding dreams to life by having the entire staff and resort focused on them.

Custom options are endless; esthetic changes such as personalized signage throughout the property, theme days/evenings, specific culinary options and much more. The total look, feel and experience can be created to fit a couple’s wishes and make their wedding as unique as they are.

An intimate beachfront resort like Baoase, is a perfect beach retreat which offers buyouts. Equal parts bohemian-chic and resort-modern, this 39-bedroom hideaway is known for its romantic setting, personalized service, attention to detail, luxurious extras and serene ambiance.

If you would like to book the entire resort, please be advised that we require a minimum night stay of 3 nights, the entire group to be on modified all inclusive plan and that a buy-out fee for the resort and the restaurant will apply.

We also have a family hotel located approximately 5 minutes by taxi from our resort called Kontiki Beach Resort which would accommodate additional guest if your group exceeds 80 guests. Baoase Luxury Resort is a 5 star plus property. Kontiki Beach Resort is a 4 star property.

SAND CEREMONY A beautiful addition to a ceremony that represents two lives, hearts and souls becoming one.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS We will help you through the legal process, to make sure all legal details are finalized in order for you to get officially married in Curacao.

PLEASE NOTE ALL DOCUMENTS NEED TO BE HANDED IN TO THE CIVIL REGISTRY AT A MINIMUM OF TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Steps: Documentation Process/ Requirements for Curacao’s Civil Registry

Send a cover letter addressed to the civil registry as a marriage petition with your wish to get married. Letter should state: (1) Desire to get married in Curaçao (2) Name of the hotel with date and time of the wedding (3) Bridal couples name and signatures with copies of passports

6 witnesses must be present for the actual on location ceremony. Please inform the wedding planner if it will be just the two of you and we will be more than happy to offer you 6 witnesses from the Resort. All witnesses must provide: (1) Copies of theirs passports or drivers licenses (2) Must be older than 21 years of age.

Original documents of the below need to be presented with the proper certified Apostille seal, or legalized by the Dutch Council Embassy (Civil Registry) in your country and documents shouldn’t be older than one year.

Original Birth certificates of the couple bearing the signature of the State Registrar and can be obtained at the Division of Vital Statistics

Single Paper of the couple notarized (unmarried status) by the civil registry

Certified copy of the divorce decree (if applicable) or if you need a certificate stating that you did not remarry after your divorce or after you became a widow (er).

After we have send all documents to the civil registry in Curaçao, they will follow up with us by approving your request for getting married.

Please keep a photocopy of all documents you are sending for your rec-ords. Please send all your documents to Baoase’s address att. Jesse Zahn. The total cost for handling all documents and process is $1’246.50 excluding the courier fee’s and translating costs.
