Our invitation

to your Wedding at Brighton College

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage. We would be delighted to welcome you to Brighton College

for your civil ceremony, blessing, wedding breakfast and evening reception.

Our professional and attentive staff are always available to offer the expertise and guidance which will

make your wedding truly memorable.

We can cater for 70-156 guests during the day and up to 250 in the evening. We can discuss your

requirements helping you make every detail perfect on your ‘special day’.

The College’s extensive menus are enclosed along with our wine list. If you require any further information

please contact our Events Coordinator who will be happy to help.

Please note the minimum number of guests is 70 adults.

A different kind of venue for your Wedding

THE CHAPEL In our Victorian Chapel, your marriage can be blessed in an atmosphere of quiet dignity and beauty. THE HORDERN ROOM Licensed for civil ceremonies and accommodating up to 110 guests, The Hordern Room is ideally

located next to the Chapel and Great Hall.

THE GREAT HALL & BUSTOW GALLERY The Gallery leads through to the Great Hall and is ideal for pre-reception drinks, or alternatively, may

be used alone for a smaller party. The Gothic splendour of The Great Hall, with its large stage area, is

the ideal venue for all types of wedding receptions.

THE SIMON SMITH LOUNGE

This fantastic new beautifully designed space can be used as an alternative to the lawns for a drinks

reception or for lunches, meetings or daytime functions such as christenings.

THE DINING HALL

This oak panelled room provides an excellent nostalgic alternative for an ‘old fashioned’ Wedding

Breakfast and is now licensed for Civil Ceremonies for up to 150 guests

SCOTT’S CAFE

With its superb outside terrace and modern contemporary décor, Scott’s Cafe is the perfect venue for a

more informal reception and is also an ideal setting for pre-reception drinks.

THE LAWNS

Providing a beautiful backdrop for every wedding, the College Lawns can also be used for your pre-reception drinks. SAMMY WOODS PAVILION

Our beautiful cricket pavilion is the perfect setting for a small drinks party or barbeque

All of our rooms have a full entertainment’s and bar license.

Choose from a selection of sparkling wine, Pimms, or summer cocktails to enjoy on our lawns.

We are able to cater for all of your requirements or alternatively offer the option for you to

bring your own wine and champagne for a corkage fee.

Wedding Summer Menu

Starters

Ham hock terrine, homemade piccalilli and oatmeal bread

Natural smoked haddock fish cakes with dressed watercress and caper mayonnaise

Salad of duck leg confit, pea shoots, squeaky green beans and Madeira jus

Main Course

Pan fried breast of chicken with aubergine caviar, herb gnocchi, sun blushed tomatoes, sauté chorizo

sausage and lemon oil

Slow cooked belly of pork served with buttered baby leeks, sweet potato dauphinoise and a warm pear

chutney

Crispy skinned salmon with pea puree, saffron buttered Jersey royal potato and Parma ham crisp

Spiced baked cod Pan fried chicken and kalamata olives, wild mushroom butter, sauté lemon thyme new

potatoes, asparagus spears and fresh tomato sauce

Treacle tart with vanilla and honey cream

Bramley apple tart tatin with crème Chantilly

Roasted breast of chicken stuffed with local goats cheese, pearl barley stew and braised shallots

Three hour braised navarin of lamb with roasted root vegetables and herb creamed potatoes (incurs

supplement)

Roasted British pork loin with saffron, cider and cream casserole with a sautéed potato disc

Roast rump of beef with homemade chips, garlic chestnut mushrooms, onion ring, roasted tomato and

peppercorn sauce

2011 Pinot Grigio ‘Cal del Bianco’ IGT Venezie, Carlo Botter Italy

Dry fruity Pinot Grigio that is a serious step in class from the norm

2011 Terres du Feu, Chardonnay, Vin de Pays d'Oc, France (House White)

Unoaked Chardonnay, attractive peach and citrus fruit with a crisp clean mineral finish.

2011 Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand

Lovely peach and apple flavour with a zingy mid palate. Fresh and revealing with a touch of gooseberry

fruit.

Red Wine Selection

2009 Stoneburn Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand

This wonderfully smooth and generous Pinot Noir offers ripe cherry, plum and raspberry fruit combined

with a touch of sweet spice followed by a soft and clean finish.

2010 Marques de Reinosa, Tempranillo, Rioja, Spain (House Red)

Intense cherry red colour Tempranillo, with an enticing nose of red fruits and vanilla. The palate is silkily

textured, with raspberries and plums underpinned by a gentle oakiness.

2011 Finca Las Paredes, Malbec, San Rafael, Argentina

Malbec is Argentina's speciality, and this example exhibits a powerful smoky nose of

black fruits, followed by a full-bodied & rich palate, with fine balancing tannins and a

smooth velvety finish.
