About Us

We are a local based Wedding & Event planner who offers a friendly & approachable service for all your wedding requirements.

KG Events have been trading since April 2009 helping brides and grooms make their wedding days perfect!

We can help you with your wedding needs no matter how big or small and we always do things just the way you would like them.

We pride ourselves on providing the perfect set up for your special day.

Katy previously had over 8 years experience organising events at Ackergill Tower, By Wick and everything was organised to a very high standard and she continues to use this experience with KG Events.

We cover:

Chair Cover Hire:

Our chair covers and sashes are all very high quality to provide you with a top quality finish for your wedding day. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional set up for your wedding day with nothing out of place; each bow hand tied with perfection. When you book KG Events we take every effort to source a sash to match your colour scheme so everything tones and looks perfect. We will liaise with your venue regarding set up so you don’t have to worry about a thing. We will have everything set up for your big day and even collect afterwards. Our sashes are available in organza, taffeta, satin, hessian and lace. Also organza hoods, spandex bands and tartan sashes available. Our all inclusive price includes chair cover hire, sash hire, set up at your venue and collection afterwards:

- White Linen - £4.60 each - Spandex – available in white, ivory & black - £3.60 each - Double sashes – extra 50p per chair (excludes lace) - Diamante Sliders & Brooches – price dependant on what design.

DIY also available which allows you to hire our top quality chair covers and sashes & set them up yourself.

Chair Covers – £1.50 per spandex chair cover

Sashes – 75p-£1.50 per sash (as long as have sash already). New sashes extra.

We will also cover outwith Caithness and Sutherland, just get in touch to let us know where your venue is and we are more than happy to travel to help you on your wedding day.

Venue Decoration & Set Up

If you are just needing that extra help with providing some decoration for your venue should it be roof drapes or just general help with setting up – KG Events is here to help at your wedding venue.

Or maybe you have hired a hall and needing someone to take the pressure off and set it all up for you, this is no problem for us, we have a fantastic team that can help make your wedding day look perfect.

On The Day Co-Ordination

K.G Events can also be there on the day to provide that co-ordination to make sure everything runs smoothly. Probably more suited to a venue other than a hotel. We can do as little or as much as required. From being there to make sure everything is the way you want it, greeting your guests and direct them to where they should be going and serving them drinks, liaising with catering staff with regards to timings for serving, being master of ceremonies to even tidying up at the end of the night. We are here to help no matter how much help you need.

Full Wedding/Event Planning

We can provide full wedding planning for your special day taking all that extra pressure away from you.

We can assure you that you’d be kept up-to-date with everything every step of the way and your wedding day will be organised just the way you want it but without the hours of work required.

Local weddings and also further afield organised. Costing is based on requirements.

Supplier/Venue Sourcing:

Struggling to find that perfect supplier for something for your wedding or maybe just don’t have the time to do all the searching, just let us know what you’re looking for and we will come back with all availability for all suppliers we can source for you. Saving you hours of searching and all you need to do then is decide which one you’d like to go for when all the information is in front of you, saving you hours of work. We charge per supplier – get in touch for more details and costs.

We take the time to get all your ideas and colour schemes and go away and make up various designs for you to choose from. Even mixing and matching them if required until we find that wedding invitation you were looking for. Your guest’s first impression of what your wedding day is going to be like is based on your wedding invitations and we are able to provide you with that “wow” invitations for your guests.

Balloon Decoration

We provide balloon decoration at your venue in the colours of your choice. We only use high quality latex balloons which insures they last the full duration of your wedding day. A huge selection of colours are available, get in touch if you’d like any samples.

Pick n’ Mix

Looking for something a little different and to keep your guests sweet tooth at bay in the Evening? We can set up a Pick n’ Mix at your venue – with either us or you providing the sweeties.

£60 set up fee for a mixture of 10 different vases/jars, tongs, scoops, bags all presented at your venue with your colour scheme to match. We can provide your sweeties should you wish, just let us know your favourites and we will get back to you with costs.

Fairy Light Back Drop

Our fairy light back drop adds that extra finish to your wedding day – normally placed behind where you get married or your top table. Our charge starts at £50 upwards depending on the size required. This is available at your venue and includes material with fairy lights and set up for you. Available at any venue (as long as venue allows). A lovely finishing touch to your wedding venue.

Roof Decoration

KG Events offers a range of roof decoration at our local venues in Caithness. Each venue we offer different styles due to roof height and what we can do practically. But please get in touch if you have a different idea than what we haven’t stated below and we are always looking to add extra options to our range.

Katy’s Suggested Wedding Checklist!

You can book things as soon as you wish and probably sooner rather than later is always the best to ensure you get the suppliers you are looking for. This checklist is just a wee guide to keep you right on the run up to your big day!

12 or more Months before (or sooner if planning a quicker wedding)

□ Set your date and look at your venue options and book as soon as possible □ Set your wedding budget □ Choose your wedding party □ Book Wedding Photography □ Book Videographer (if having one) □ Check bands availability and sometimes safer to book now □ Decide on transport and book as soon you can □ Meet with and book your minister/humanist etc □ Draw up a rough guest list for wedding & evening reception 9-12 Months before □ Order your Wedding Dress & Bridesmaids □ Arrange for Men to look at kilt/suit hire if required □ Arrange your venue decorations and chair covers □ Book your florist □ Order your wedding cake
