  • How to use this template This is a template for an internal communication or human resources webinar Yellow slides like this are for instructions Use them to create the content on the following slide Then delete the yellow slide Use this template as a starting point It gives you flow and structure for your webinar But change it to suit your needs Lets get started!
  • Title slide: show the title and logistics This is the first slide people see Show them the webinar title (and subtitle, if appropriate) Show them any logistical information How to connect to the webinar (local, toll-free and international phone numbers) How to download any handouts/notes Anything else to help them get ready for the presentation
  • Introduce your moderator If you have a moderator, they will start the webinar Show their name and photo, so the audience can put a face to the voice If you dont have a moderator, you dont need this slide
  • Meet your moderator Insert photograph here
  • Give them a handout If you have handouts or notes: Tell them where to download them Do this even if they should have downloaded them beforehand Make it easy to download Use an easy-to-type URL if they need to type it You can use http://bit.ly to create a short URL Better still send them the URL through the chat feature of GoToWebinar so they can click it directly

  • Show them how to participate Some of your attendees might not have attended a webinar before Explain how it works Show them how to take part Reassure them you wont call on them without their permission

  • Introduce yourself Basic information Full name Job title and organization if relevant A good head-and-shoulders photo Brief contact information Include any other relevant information for example: A CEO might not need this slide If youre presenting to people you know, you might not need anything else If youre presenting to people you dont know, explain your role and position Make this slide brief Your audience wants to hear your presentation

  • State your key message You might be making many different points, but ... What is the one thing you want them to know, think or feel after your webinar? Tell them early Webinar attendees are impatient and easily distracted, so dont make them wait Tell them your key message early, so they know what everything else relates to This is especially important if youre delivering a lot of other information so they dont get confused by it all Yes, this is like giving away the punch line to the joke! But it really does help your webinar audience

  • Describe your audience members Identify them Who are they? Why are they attending this webinar? Even an informational webinar should have a clear goal for them Examples Staff who want to know how the company restructure will affect them Clients who want to know the effects of the latest interest rate change Managers who want to know key milestones for this project

  • List the benefits for them List the 3-4 benefits of this webinar for the audience If youre not sure, here are some questions to help you decide: After the webinar, what would you like them to know? What would you like them to feel? What would you like them to do? WARNING: In an information-rich webinar, its easy to focus only on what youd like them to know, but dont forget feel and do as well

  • State any unspoken objections Are there any objections, obstacles or negative impressions you need to overcome?   • Stop for questions Even though you havent started your main presentation, youve addressed a number of issues already Stop briefly now for questions, because it: Gives them a chance to ask for clarification Encourages them to interact with you Gives you a chance to stop and take a breath

  • State your recommendations What recommendations do you have for your audience? They expect you to suggest an action plan, or at least some options When do they need to take action? Do they need to decide now? If not, what is the deadline, and how do they respond? Do you want the group to make a decision? Ask for their input now

  • Launch a poll if appropriate! If appropriate, you might be able to conduct a poll for example: What action will they take next? Which item is their top priority? When will they complete a process (6 weeks? 6 months?)? Show the poll question on the next slide This gives you time to explain the question before they start answering it It also prompts your moderator to get ready to show the poll
