How can podcasting improve learning?
Personal broadcasting has applications not only for transmitting content for students’ use, but also in having students create content.
Imagine students recording interviews with classmates, faculty, or domain experts, or capturing video footage during fieldwork, and then using the raw recordings to create a multimedia presentation.

Social Studies Assignment:
Today we have identified various presidential roles.
For HW, listen to this audio from the Nixon White House.
What presidential role is evident from the audio? Based on our coverage of the 2008 campaign, do you feel President-Elect Obama will be able to excel in this role? Why/why not?
![Page 9: Web2 Jan](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022110118/554ed7d9b4c905d1158b479f/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Perhaps in World Language...
Is humor a cultural universal?
Listen to this joke by the Cuban American comic Alvarez Guedes and “translate” it in English in your notebook.
Then think of a (PG-13) joke and translate it in Spanish.
![Page 10: Web2 Jan](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022110118/554ed7d9b4c905d1158b479f/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Perhaps in Physical ED...
A teacher can record his/her own podcast with instructions and music
The students are then to choreograph an exercise routine at home that they will present to class later in the quarter
![Page 11: Web2 Jan](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022110118/554ed7d9b4c905d1158b479f/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Perhaps in an ART class...
Now that we have completed our study of the elements of painting (Line, Form, Color, Space & Texture), you will adopt the role of MET curator
Select one painting from the MET collection and create an original PODCAST that incorporates the painting elements with an analysis of the image.

Remember ADA SECTION 508
“If the podcast is on a school Web site, or is hosted at another site and has potential for use in schools, then its text equivalent should be provided. Text equivalents help meet the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508, which require streaming media to be accessible to the deaf and hearing impaired.” http://www.thejournal.com/articles/20818_2
