Please make sure that you read this story with your student at least 2 times at home. This will be their last Reading grade, so please make sure they end on a good one! Spelling- Last week was a rough week for many of our Spelling tests. Those are all 2 nd grade sight words that students should know how to use and spell. They should know how to spell them in everyday use, not just for a Spelling test as well. If your student did not do well on these PLEASE be practicing these over the summer. This week all of our words have long vowels o and e. Heads up!! Next week we will still be having a Spelling test. We will just have 1 test and that will be on Wednesday!! If you would like to study the words ahead of time they are listed below. I would recommend extra practice so this Spelling test is not like last weeks. Last one—make it a good one!! Spelling List for May 18 th -May This Week Information May 15 th —Rotary Club will be here to read a story to us and make us Apple Dumplins May 15 th —Carnival May 18 th —Walking Field Trip to Library and other fun town locations. May 21 st —Field Day May 22 nd —Community Circle, Picnic Lunch, & LAST DAY!!!! End of the Year Testing Upcoming Events We are wrapping up on our End of the Year testing with our class. Your students have been tested a lot! Last week they took the Gates testing which consisted of Word Decoding, Word Knowledge, and Comprehension. They also took the Fountas & Pinnell one on one testing. This week on Monday we took our last STAR Math test and today we took our last STAR Reading test. With all of that being said I will be getting all of those reports and scores together on an end of the year form and will be sending it home with your student sometime next week. End of the Year Testing

We are wrapping up on our End of the Year testing with our class. Your students have been tested a lot! Last week they took the Gates testing which consisted of Word Decoding, Word Knowledge, and Comprehension. They also took the Fountas & Pinnell one on one testing. This week on Monday we took our last STAR Math test and today we took our last STAR Reading test. With all of that being said I will be getting all of those reports and scores together on an end of the year form and will be sending it home with your student sometime next week. It will have the scores of items that they were assessed on throughout the year as well as the beginning, middle, and ends—which are always cool to see their amazing progress throughout the year. The hard work all paid off!
