The creation narrative this Sunday highlights the fact that human beings are incomplete without the other. “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will create a suitable partner for him.” (Gen 2: 18)

How does the Eucharist, which unites us with each other through the mystical body of Christ, help me strengthen my relationships with others, particularly through my committed relationships (family, marriage, parish)?

All three of today’s readings remind us to never become too comfortable in identifying oneself as a victim. Jesus, in his sacrifice on the cross, was God’s perfect victim for all of humanity, destroying sin and redeeming us through his death and resurrection.

When I approach the altar and consume Jesus’ broken body, am I truly aware of the tremendous sacrifice he made for me on the cross?
