A Moment of Transformation Procedures: 1. Carousel/Group brainstorming: Visit each location (moving clockwise) with your group to list ideas for each topic. 2. Use marker; no erasing allowed- just retrace your lines. Try out different viewpoints and/or expressions. 4. Lesson: A Moment of TransformationChallenge: Create an artwork that depicts emotional change or a transformative moment. Using continuous contour line drawing, students will represent a moment of personal transformation, then will reinterpret it into a self-portrait sculpture.

CreateStudents will draw several continuous line contour drawings, as a starting point for their wire self-portrait. Students will experiment with and vary viewpoint, and proportional relationships in planning a self-portrait sculpture. They will use aluminum wire to transform their line drawing into an intentional sculpture.
