What is materials?<Definition>

Materials : the equipment necessary for a particular activity

Materials are contents, sources, when we make website we needed. For example, website logo, pictures, music, videos, softwares, etc.

Then, how can we get materials?

There are three ways.

1. We make materials ourselves.

2. We buy materials or contract with outsourcing enterprise.

3. We use free licence contents.

I compare three ways.

Make materials ourselves∙ This way demands spending long time.∙ No copyright problem.∙ No one can guarantee the quality.

Buy materials or contract with outsourcing enterprise

∙ It demands a lot of money.∙ It’s good result.∙ We must make artist release form to prevent the copyright problem.

Get and use free licence materials

∙ We can’t find what we want.∙ We should specify copyright holders.∙ We check we can secondary modification and redistribution, etc.

I have experience about materials. In STAC2014, We make a smartphone app. That time, when we get materials needed, we use 2 ways. The first way, making materials ourselves is definitely too took a long time. And it didn’t have high quality, such as loopholes. We don’t know that loopholes when we make, but after we known with the help of expert.

The third way, getting and using free licence materials is we can use materials for free. And the materials is high quality more than materials we make. Besides, it is free!

We get background music, code that show slide and particle effects.

We are students and we don’t have enough money. So, we use first and third ways. It demands spending long time and we can’t satisfy all materials. But that ways are right way for our financial condition.
