Making the cover and back of your book 1. Get two pieces of pre-cut cardboard, (1 for your cover, 1 for your back) 2. Measure 1.25” along the top and bottom of BOTH pieces of cardboard. This will be your book’s spine. 3. Make a line connecting the top 1.25”notch with the bottom 1.25” notch. 4. GENTLY run the exacto knife along this line TWICE. This is called “scoring”. You don’t want to go all the way through the cardboard, but about half way through, enough that you can cleanly bend it.

Making the pages for your book1. Get paper for your pages. You are required to have 18 photos. So you’ll need to decide:

a. How many photos to a page?b. Will you have photos on the front and back?

2. Like the covers, measure 1.25” on each page that will go into your book3. You will not need to “score”, but will need to fold each page

4. Using a glue brush OR q-tip, glue all of your pages together, page by page at the spine. Be careful you don’t use too much glue to avoid spill over onto your pages.

5. Make sure all of you pages are flush and even and glue the edges. See below:

6. Clip to dry for about 45 minutes

Please remember, your cover should relate to your theme. You can do the following: Use a photo, printed on regular paper Use colored or decorative paper Paint something on paper and cover Do a tape transfer

1. Lay your cover down so that the spine is bent DOWN.2. Using a GLUE STICK, cover the entire area, except the spine with glue

3. Lay the glued side down on your cover paper. DO NOT COVER THE SPINE!

4. Flip your over and smooth out with you hand or baron. This is to ensure your cover paper

sticks and there are no creases or bubbles

5. Cut the corners and fold and glue the edges IN.
