Unit 304 Task 2:
2.1 An overview of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and equality act and how does it help in supporting managing diversity within teams and organisations:
2.1.1
DDA:
The Disability discrimination act (DDA) is an act which is used for anyone who has a disability is protected by this act. The act mainly covers for people who find things a challenge such as direct discrimination, disability related discrimination, victimisation, harassment etc. Discrimination is where people treat people or a certain group of people differently from each other in the worst way possible based on you sex, sexuality colour of your skin and your beliefs. Victimisation is where people threaten or punish someone because of things that they have done such as refusing to do something they have asked which you dont want to do, asserted there rights. Victimisation can also come under as bullying where you just punish someone for no reason because they have done nothing wrong. Harassment can come under different types of harassment such as sexual harassment or racial harassment where youre making jokes, insulting someone based on who they are and being racist toward someone the opposite colour or their beliefs.
Equality act:
The equality act simplifies all of the current laws for discrimination such as the DDA and put them into one which is known as the equality act of 2010. The equality act is an act which protects people form discrimination by them treating you unfairly because of the person you are. This act helps people within areas such as employers, health and care providers, school or colleges and transport services such as taxis, buses and trains.
Benefits of diversity in the workplace:
2.1.2 The many benefits of diversity within a workplace can be many things to most work places such as increased creativity or productivity where the company itself will gain experience from one another and being able to apply that experience into better things for the company such as better products or a better outcome overall. Another benefit will be increased candidate pool where a company who braces workplace diversity will immediately bring in a wider pool of candidates for things such as job vaccines. With a wider pool candidates from diversity will mean that a company or a workplace will ensure that they will have the best candidates for the right job. Another benefit will be more effective execution where companies who encourage diversity within their workplace will inspire all of their employees to be able to perform to the highest of their ability. This will result in higher productivity, profit and return on investment. Another benefit will be border service range where you have a diverse collection of skills and experiences which allows a company itself to be able to provide services to customers globally.

2.2.2 Interests of my colleagues:
We all have the same end goal to be able to complete all of the work that needs to be completed by the end of the college period where all work needs to be completed by then. We all want to be able to do the best that we can with all the unit throughout the course because we all want to be able achieve the best we can from this course as we have chosen to do it. They are all interested into being able to learn more form the course or unit itself so that they can get the experience that they need so that them and me can get the job that we want.
