5 minute analysis of film – (45-50)

Piece to camera, making it conform to the documentary/prankumentary genre. Mise-en-scene outside and with a painting behind Thierry reinforcing the theme of the prankumentary; art.

Hand held camera shot, often found in this genre. It adds to the intensity of the situation that Thierry is in for the audience.

Another piece to camera, however this is Banksy, he is silhouetted to disguise who he is, and acts as an enigma code (Roland Barthes),

The audio of his voice has been distorted so that we can’t tell what he sounds like adding to the enigma he is.

Mise-en-scene again art in the background, reinforcing the street art representations and we assume that this is his work, could be filmed in his studio.

Hand held camera, common to the film genre. Audio over is intense music, with non-diegetic voice over… “Thierry was released after our hours of interrogation…” connotes what he was doing was seen as a crime and the situation he was in was very serious.

Again cuts to piece to camera of Banksy, refers to Thierry in the past makes the audience wonder/question what will happen to their friendship. “I guess I trusted him” what will he do to break Banksy’s trust.

Cuts then to Thierry with Shepard Fairy and other people laughing, high fiving etc… this juxtaposes the previous scene, which was negative and intense, this scene however is more positive and relaxed.

Audio- voice over “Thierry along with half of Hollywood turned up for Banksy’s show”

Visual – shot of Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, shows that street art and Banksy has interested celebrities, making it seem important.
