Works as a team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of early childhood professional development offerings using New Mexico Early Learning Guidelines: Birth through Kindergarten. 

Collaborates with early childhood educators across district programs and community-based programs. 

Oversees access to technical support for sites regarding program data maintenance and data uploads on a monthly basis to meet PED monthly reporting requirements for Pre-K. 

Oversees and provides professional development for principals, teachers, and educational assistants. 

Provides technical assistance and consultation to administrators, and mentoring and coaching for level II and I teachers; models expert teaching practices and provides feedback for improving teaching and enhancing parent and student relationships. 

Leads and functionally supervises assigned staff and students, to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution; provides performance management feedback as appropriate. 

Assists in the development (if needed) and review each Pre-K EA’s professional development plan (PDP).

Consults with District personnel regarding student enrollment at each site, and the impact of said enrollment on instructional practices, site-based teacher professional development and standards-based program implementation,  

Supports the development and implementation of requisite family engagement activities, including home visits, family/teacher conferences aligned to the EKOT assessments, family engagement activities, and calendar of events.   

Revises, as needed, and provide training and professional development on all aspects of the Family Preschool Handbook, for administrators, Pre-K teachers and Pre-K EAs. 

Advises and consult district personnel regarding student recruitment, enrollment and attendance.  Support administrators, Pre-K teachers and EA’s in the preparation and organization of

documents requested by PED for on-site and/or electronic monitoring visits.  Supports the development of site specific timelines for the administration of health and

developmental screenings prior to the start of school, and no later than three months into the school year . 

Provides coaching and professional development to administrators, Pre-K teachers and EA’s in the development of lesson plans to accompany requests for reimbursement (RfR) for food items purchased for cooking, science, and sensory activities, and ensures timely submission to Coordinator for submission of RfRs to PED. 

Supports administrators, Pre-K teachers and EA’s in the development of Continuous Quality Improvement plans that address literacy and instructional strategies to include (1) Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS-3), (2) NM Pyramid Model Strategies, (3) LETRS-EC Strategies, (4) PreK Observational Assessment data, and (5) Family Surveys. 

Coaches and trains Pre-K teachers and EA’s on the development of intentional, developmentally appropriate early literacy practices aligned with K-3+ curriculum. 

Supports administrators, Pre-K teachers and EA’s in the timely administration assessments and data reporting related to the EKOT. 

Ensures Pre-K programs support dual language learners using criteria identified by PED in the Pre-K application. 

Ensures average scores on Early Childhood Environment Rating ECERS -3 (ECERS-3) are timely reported, and if below minimum is recorded, assist in the development of a Continuous Quality Improvement plan. 

Reviews and reports to district personnel on requisite licensure and certification for every Pre-K teacher and EA, or are enrolled in and on track to complete appropriate licensure/certification. 

Oversees and organizes the attendance and successful completion of Pre-K staff at all required trainings. 

Assists administrators in support for personnel to ensure compliance with PED assurances and District Policies. 

Adhere to NM Pre-K Consultation Guidelines,   Prepares necessary paperwork for professional development to purchase supplies, equipment

and materials needed,   Supports and consults on ordering of classroom materials and equipment to correlate with New

Mexico Early Learning Guidelines: Birth through Kindergarten  Supports teachers in lesson planning, curriculum development and portfolio assessment.   Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and

enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations.  

Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the Santa Fe Public Schools.  

Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information.   Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state

directives, District policy and administrative regulations.   Shares the responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of

facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.   Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and

other professionals.

Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.  

Performs other related Pre-K duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: Early Childhood background in general education and special education; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone; flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects; knowledge of District; knowledge of all laws, regulations and guidelines affecting teachers and students. Experience in developing and facilitating collaborative learning groups; ability to design and model job-embedded professional learning; knowledge of adult learning principles and standards; excellent facilitation, presentation and active listening skill; knowledge of effective classroom management techniques for pre-k classroom. Knowledge of developmental appropriate practices in a classroom setting; knowledge of NM Early Learning Guidelines; knowledge of ECERS –C/R rating scales; ability to commit to continuous education and learning; knowledge of word processing, database, and technology to support adult learning (i.e. iPad); ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators & community members.
