AP CapstoneReflection Rubric

In the body of your email to [email protected]: Write a personal note to me, estimating what percentage each team member contributed to the group paper. Please tell the truth. Do not be nice; do not be mean; be honest. I need to have this information for the group paper we will begin in January.

Attach to your email: a reflection on the process.

What the rubric is looking for in a reflection:

1. Explanation of the initial views of the problem

2. Explanation of the research process

3. Explanation of how you approached solving the problem you posed

4. Explanation of the revision process

5. Explanation of discoveries made during the research and writing process

6. Discussion of the collaborative process and individual contributions to the team

7. Personal views on the issues (before and after)

You have 800 words (give or take 10%). Email it to me by the end of the day, Tuesday, December 23.

On this reflection in particular, what is most important to me is a reflection on the lessons you learned during this process. What worked well? What will you make sure to continue doing on the next research assignment? What will you need to change? How will you do it differently the next time around? In sum, what did you learn about the process and the subject itself?

Here is a sample from the College Board. Its not great, but its the only sample we have.

The actual language of the College Board rubric.

The reflection insightfully explains the initial views of the problem and approach to conducting research and solving the problem.

The reflection also describes consideration of extensive revision in writing and thinking, based on discoveries made during the process.
