EXAMPLE: “Image of the Layers Screen”.3. A link to the user’s manual will be provided as part of the title or

caption.4. If the image is used as only an illustration, and not contributing

to the instruction, a description (less than 250 characters) and title are required.

5. If a portion of the image is being used as part of the instruction, the content/text on the page will completely describe how this image is being used to instruct the application, including navigation. The alt text for the image will be “Refer to the text on this page for a complete description of this image.”

2. If the text on the slide is less than 250 characters, reference the slide number and use alt text.

3. If the text on the slide is more than 250 characters, reference the slide number and the text must be verbatim on the page.

4. The alt text title would be completed and the alt text description will read “The alt text for this image is referenced on the page.”

5. In this case, the text on the page will read:

Organizational Charts
