Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG): Course Description
Designed to instruct students in welding safety and the Gas Metal Arc Welding process (GMAW-MIG)
Approximately 48 hours of booth instruction, lecture and practice
Course Content Fundamentals of GMAW (MIG) Instruction on the metal arc transfers of short
circuiting, globular, spray arc, pulse of spray arc, Power Mode and Surface Tension Transfer* How various shielding gases affect gas metal arc welding Individual booth time dedicated to welding on mild steel in all welding positions
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG): Course Description
Designed to instruct students in welding safety and the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process (GMAW-TIG)
Approximately 48 hours of booth instruction, lecture and practice
Course Content Fundamentals of GMAW (TIG) for steel and stainless steel Welding procedures taught on carbon and stainless steel Welding consists of edge, corner, lap, and fillet welds in
all positions Welding limited to regular thin, flat material, which does not include thick plate, pipe, or other irregular
shapesAttendance:
Participants must attend at least 90% of each program attempted to successfully complete the programPassing Policy:
During and at the end of each part of the program, welding tests and welding samples will be tested to determine participants ability to successfully complete and pass each part of the program
Weld samples are tested to AWS, ASME, and API welding codesEligibility Requirements:
Honorably Discharged College will be required to collect and maintain copies of DD-214 forms
