פץח = “delight, pleasure” under BDB 343a.
moan, growl, utter, speak, muse” under BDB 211b. Often translated“ = הגה“meditate”. Eugene Peterson in his book Eat This Book draws a great deal of meaning out of this use of הגה in Psalm 1:2. Based on Peterson’s take I half seriously suggest translating הגה as “nomnomnom”.
Grammatical note = Adversative clause with כי or כי אם after a negative. Note the use of כי after a negative (verse 1). This is called an adversative clause. This use of כי is often followed by a pleonastic (extra/untranslated) .You can translate this “but” or even “but instead”. See Williams §555 .אם

2 “Cairo omits”.3 “Gloss, compare Joshua 1:8”. I would ask if that is precisely the point. Not a gloss? but based on Joshua 1:8?4 “Insert לא כן compare Septuagint” so “… not so!”5 “Septuagint adds ‘from the face of the earth’”.6 “Septuagint εν βουλη compare verse 1”.
