We don’t just read to relive history, acquire information, or learn a lesson – we read to add to the human experience. We share emotions, escape the real world, and sink into the flow of a masterfully-written story.

In this assignment, I want you to find the beauty in the written word. Slow down and notice a phrase, sentence, or moment – up to one paragraph maximum – that is either eloquently written, contains a meaningful message, or is important to the development of a plot or character. Once you find that moment, we will have a little fun with it

Step 1: Tell Me about ItComplete the graphic organizer on the next page for each of your examples (2 minimum) to identify plausible meaning(s), writing techniques, or importance to the plot.

Step 2: Show It to UsUsing any 2D artistic medium of your choice, illustrate your quotes to bring it to life for us. You could…

Use Canva, Word Swag, or another app/website to create text over a photograph/illustration Use any type of markers, colored pencils, or paint to create your own drawings Use scraps to make a collage or a slightly messier medium ;-)

There’s only one rule for your artwork (other than needing to be 2D and able to hang on a wall): it needs to reflect the tone, mood, emotion, or meaning of your quotes in some way.

On the BACK of your artwork, write a paragraph and defend your choices of colors, symbols, fonts, images, and other design choices. Explain how you showed the meaning or significance of your quote!
