I choose to revise this unit project because I noticed that I left specific details out. I wanted to add the art behind at least one ride at Disney world to prove my argument that Disney is a creative place and not just tourist trap encouraged with good marketing. I added a section that went into specific detail about Disney World's Tower of Terror Ride that has one of the longest wait times for Disney yet the whole process is enjoyable because of the detail and creativity Disney puts into it. Throughout my childhood, my family was crazy about Disney World. We went multiple times and every time we came home from our visit I was dying to go back. Just the name itself was so mesmerizing to me. Disney had so much to offer, that as a child, no other vacation could pull off. As soon as the plane landed in Orlando a smile never left my face. Looking back on my childhood now, I always thought my love for Disney World was because no detail went unnoticed. The designers of Disney professionally referred as Imagineers work non stop to perfect the Orlando resort. Disney World Orlando is not only an amusement park it is a collection of art. Not only are the animations impressive, Imagineers bring Disney characters to life be creating jaw breaking sets, rides and attractions, hotels and restaurants, and of course technology all throughout the parks. Though this is my take on Disney, many people are quick to say that a guests opinion on Disney World isn’t real, in fact, it is a false interpretation of their advertising and marketing. According to Simone Pettigrew, the author of Hearts and Minds: Children's Experiences in Disney World, this is true. Pettigrew conducted a case study involving two siblings from Australia trip to Disney World. Before the siblings left for Disney Pettigrew interviewed them on what they know of Disney and what they think Disney World will be like, “There’s like red, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, and orange.

Lots of very colorful colors I should say... After the arch, there are all these huge roller coasters popping out everywhere, and shops, arcades, swimming pools, everywhere.” Every day of their vacation they rated their experiences based on a scale of face emojis. While the scale always remained happy, it was never on the happiest option. Pettigrew and many others argue that Disney advertisements make guests expectations too high and therefore hype them up for their trip. In Pettigrew's argument, she explains how Disney is not a piece of art, it is a tectal way of selling a product.

The welcome signing entering Walt Disney World Orlando Resort property.

This professional photograph was taken by Disney for advertisements. This picture is a great example of candid photography but it is highly unrealistic for a family to be skipping around an empty Magic Kingdom.

Although it is safe to say that Disney World is not an ordinary theme park and it is clear that a park like Six Flags is in equivalent, Disney has their downfalls. A recent article from the New York Times journalist Matthew Wald explains why a trip to Disney World is worth it even when it seems not, in Disney World Without Tears. Many adults cringe when hearing the words Disney World because they know the lines for attractions are ungodly. The most popular rides like Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror can have wait times of 130 minutes! Long lines in the heat, with thousands of small children, seems terrible but at the end of the day it is worth it, “The trip was worth it, however, for the reaction of our seven years old who was delighted with the animations at which Disney excels at.”   One special feature Disney offers that an ordinary park such as Six

Flags doesn't is its interactive technology and set design. While wait times for a ride like the Tower of Terror can last hours there is so much to see and do while waiting. Tower of Terror, a classic Disney movie, is also a thrill seeking ride in Disney Hollywood Studios theme park. The ride is about four minutes long and goes through the main plot of the movie, an old elevator that gets struck by lightning at the top of a skyscraper hotel, thus sending the makeshift elevator plummeting down the Hollywood Tower Hotel which at one point you are able to look over all of Disney World for roughly half a second. Yes, the ride is short and the wait is usually 30 times longer than the ride itself but time flies by while waiting. All of the operators of the ride are dressed in authentic costumes and act as if they are in the movie. As well as the building itself is decorated to the max inside and out. While waiting for the ride, the line starts outside of the building with creepy music playing and views of the park, shortly guests are moved inside where there is AC and built in technology such as movies, interactive video clips of ghosts and lightning and props. After being in the “lobby” for some time packs of guests are escorted onto a large elevator and brought up one floor where they enter a dark basement looking floor, here is where guests are seated onto the makeshift elevators.  The whole experience of the ride is memorable even for a little kid. People are constantly taking pictures with design props and interactive toys while waiting in line rather than the idea itself. Though some components of the resort are not ideal, the quality of experience customers receive due to the developing surroundings make aspects like excessive wait times and crowd control worth the hassle. In this case, art overpowers all and creates an everlasting impression.

The ride Toy Story Mania in MGM Hollywood Studios is full of interactive animated games while guests are seated in moving carts.

A Disney signature was in every aspect of my vacations and I thought that was fantastic. Before guests even leave their house their Disney vacation begins with magic bands that are basically your keys to unlock everything Disney World has to offer. Once guests land at the Orlando airport a Disney Magic Your Way bus is waiting. From that moment on anything a guest sees will be connected to Disney. I never thought of this as excessive. In fact, I thought Disney marketing was fun and special! What really brought me over the edge was how realistic and detailed all the rides are. The set designers, architects and interior designers of Disney truly bring animation to life. Even though it has been about four years since I last visited Disney, I can still picture Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountains interiors.

Disney Magic Bands that acts as a guest’s room key, park tickets, wallet, and fast passes all in one.

Disney holds the torch when it comes to theme parks, on average 19,332,000 people visit Disney Year every year and the numbers keep rising. The art of Disney World attract people of all ages and in my personal opinion fulfills all expectations. Many people might not automatically think of Disney World as a collection of art, but the dedication and planning that goes into it make the park burst with creativity.
