Section 1: Introduction to OER
Brief overview of OER:
This OER is a collection of learning videos and Moodle based Quiz activities on a module “Coplanar Concurrent force system”. There are 2 open source Videos (Licensed under Creative commons / you tube Liscence) related to topic (we have provided Links of these on wordpress). This OER is very useful for Engineering students and educators. It provides conceptual clarity through videos, along with LbD (Moodle Quiz) activities which are out of class activities and will help in creating Understand level, Recall level and Apply level thinking among students. Educators in Engineering can use these resources in their courses to create effective learning.
These videos can be viewed from:Links:

This OER will be able to achieve following objectives:Learning Objective:
Knowledge:
o To know terms Concurrent Forces, Resultant, and Equilibrate ForceOpen Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 3
o To Calculate Horizontal and Vertical Components of forceso To Calculate Horizontal and Vertical Components of forceso Learners would be able to understand the concepts/ theories of Coplanar Concurrent Forces.o By doing the Quiz (LbD activities), the learners would be able to recall and apply their
knowledge acquired from these videos.o Learners would be able to assess their knowledge gained from these resources (by doing quiz
and problem solving).

[2] For videos, youtube.com
[3] For developing website on wordpressOpen Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 4
Section 2: Design DecisionsThree types of design decisions were taken for creation of OER. These are as follows:
1. Content Decision:
Content decision included:
Deciding on the area in engineering and topic to be covered under that area. In this
the team decided for content development in the Coplanar Concurrent Force system.
Another decision in content was regarding material to be provided for LbD activities.
For this the team decided to provide:
o Videos
o Moodle Quiz
2. Pedagogy Decision:
Pedagogy decision included:
The first decision was regarding learning pedagogy. For this the team decided to
develop an out of class segment with free learning videos and Moodle based quiz as
LbD activities associated with those videos. These videos can be used by students to
build conceptual understanding about Coplanar Concurrent Force system.
Second decision was regarding pedagogy to be used in LbD activities. Team decided
to design LbD (Moodle Quiz) activities in such a way that would create learning,
recall and apply problem solving skills in students.
3. Technology Decision
Technology decision included:
Free Licence Videos from Youtube were downloaded.
For LbD activity, i.e. Quiz, Moodle Quiz Activity was selected.
Open Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 5
For creating a course portfolio, where all the resources (Videos and LbD activities)
can to be linked, wordpress was used.

How to use OER
Open Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 12
Use of OER by students:
Open link: https://jayawantpatil.wordpress.com/oer-activity/
Link to all LbD activities are provided under OER Activities menu. Videos can be accessed simply by clicking on the links provided for the topics. Videos will be played in youtube in a new window.
The link to moodle quiz is

Available to Students with their login credentials on Institutes Intranet platform
Use of OER by Educators:
Educators in the field of Engineering can use this OER for their own courses also. They may provide link of website to students for conceptual understanding and implementing that knowledge through various LbD activities. The teacher can then check the performance of the students by following methods:
1. To check the performance of quiz, teacher may ask students to bring screenshots of their quiz review sheet, which they will get after submitting the quiz.
2. To check the case analysis, teacher may ask students to submit case analysis in form of assignment in the class.
Best Practices
The best practices for use of such out of class OER could be:
1. Ask the students to watch the video and do the related LbD activity one day prior to the class on that particular topic.
2. Teacher may give some marks for completion of the said LbD activity.3. These videos and LbD activities can be referred by the students on a later stage also, as and
when required.
Section 4: Effectiveness of OEROpen Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 13
Effectiveness at student level
Effectiveness of OER at student level can be checked for three parameters:
1. Access: Access to videos can be checked through number of views of video in youtube. Access to quiz can be checked through number of attempts of quiz made by students. Moodle shows the complete record of all those who have attempted the quiz.
2. Learning: Learning can be checked through the scores/ grades of students who have attempted the quiz from moodle. In case of Case analysis teacher can grade it and judge the learning from resource. In case of Leadership activity scoring can be done according to the answer key provided in the website.
3. Feedback: A feedback from the students can also be taken through the moodle about the videos and activities. The feedback survey instrument is as follows:
5-Strongly Agree, 4-Agree, 3-Neutral, 2-Disagree, 1-Strongly Disagree
Statements 5 4 3 2 1The videos were easy to accessThe videos helped in learning about the conceptsThe activities linked with videos were able to create greater learning at recall and apply levelThe topics taken were completely covered through videos and activitiesThe videos and activities were easy to understandThe instructions provided for quiz were very clear
Effectiveness at educator level
Open Education Resource: Flipping the classroom with MOODLE 14
To check the effectiveness of OER at educator’s level, we can take feedback from those who have used this OER. This feedback survey can be linked on the website itself, so that whosoever accesses the website for resources can give the feedback. The feedback survey instrument is as follows:
5-Strongly Agree, 4-Agree, 3-Neutral, 2-Disagree, 1-Strongly Disagree
Statements 5 4 3 2 1The resources were easy to access (website, videos and activities)All the links provided in the website are easy to open. The instructions provided for creation of OER are clear. The learning videos are effectiveCoverage of topics is fullThe activities linked to videos are effective and are able to create greater learning among studentsVideos and activities are easy to understand
