The Three R’s Respect - one another. Relationships - Foster a classroom for building relationships. Responsibility- Take pride and responsibility in our classroom and our classwork.

Good Manners Listen to the speaker. Be cooperative. Say please and thank you. Help others. Be patient. Be courteous. Share. Use quiet voices.

Entering the classroom Teacher greets students at the door when they arrive with a smile. Students put homework in the homework folder. Students can also hand in any other forms, money or notes at this time. There will be a

folder at the front of the classroom labeled “Returned Forms”. Put backpacks away in lockers. Do not slam lockers. Take note of the agenda on the board and write down objectives on the board for the day

in journal. There will be a schedule posted in the classroom as well. Students will post their own attendance on the cloth attendance board and the card with

their name and Velcro on the back. They will take their name and place it in the school lunch or brought lunch basket. Students are to only work with their own cards. It is okay if they remind their friend that they forgot to place their card on the board.

Pledge of Allegiance/Announcements

When announcements are on, everyone stops talking and listens.

When we stand and recite the pledge of allegiance and the school code everyone stands.

Calendar There is a calendar located in

class with Velcro numbers. The calendar helper will change the date on the calendar and write the day, month, and the year on the area provided on the board.

Morning Meetings After all bell work is completed, the teacher will ring the bell for students to sit at the

carpet to discuss the calendar, daily schedule, preview any upcoming events and discuss any issues students have. Then, we will begin talking about our lesson.

Dress Code Follow dress code for school every day. Dress code may be changed as principal specifies. Friday you can wear a school spirit shirt. Free dress can be earned at different times of the year, only then will it be allowed. If students come to school out of dress code then they will have to wear a shirt provided

by the school to cover the shirt they have on. A note will be sent home to your guardian that will need to be signed and brought back. It explains the dress code and what to do to follow it.

Attendance/Tardy Students are expected to attend every day of school. Excuses will follow the school policy. As students come into the classroom, place the tardy

slip in the basket by the door and quietly put your backpack away, gather your supplies and have a seat. Wait to submit homework when the teacher is not talking. Turn it in before you leave.

If a student gets three tardy passes, a note will be sent home for your guardian to sign and return. Attendance is recorded in the students file. It does affect the student’s grade. The attendance will be on the student’s report card. Please note student hand book.

Is the area around my desk clean?” If the answer is yes then students can get what they need and proceed to get in line.

Teacher states end of day closing message while students line up. This is a quick recap of what students have learned.

Homeroom class There will be a sign next my door that tells students where my homeroom class is during

the day and also which class is in my room. I will move a clip along the schedule to help student keep informed.

Completing Work Complete work at the table when students

arrive. As students complete work place it in the

correct folder, this is my first review assessment.

Students are to label their papers with their name, first and last, and the date before submitting work.

If the teacher observes no names on papers, the teacher will announce “Name check”, students are to check their papers for the heading to write their information at the top of the page if it is needed.

There will be a folder next to the assignment folder with “No Names” labeled. A student will check the folder before class ends each day and announce to the class if there are any paper that need a name.
