Executive Summary

CK’s Lawn Caretakers can provide Augusta with an affordable and dependable lawn mowing team. Our company has state of the art equipment and operators who take a weeklong training course each year.

This proposal was written to earn the contract to mow lawns for the town of Augusta, Oregon from May 30 to September 30. We would plan on mowing 5 miles of Route 24, 23 acres of Augusta Memorial Golf Course, and 10 acres of Willoughby Park. This proposal covers the following areas:

Our proposal reviews our experience and qualifications as well as our safety features first. This allows you to see the steps we take on each job. We know that there is a person in charge of the highway mowing, the golf course, and the parks. Therefore, the proposal then goes into detail on each of the proposed jobs. In each section we will discuss the equipment, the schedule, the cost breakdown and total cost for that job.

The proposal then continues with the budget. We created tables that explain the costs of the total proposal. The total cost of the proposal would be $9,108 and would take 506 hours to complete. Finally, there is a section for the full schedule where you can see what we would be mowing on which days. It also includes an alternative day for mowing in case the weather will not permit us to mow on the original day. This is a full calendar that you can rip out and keep track of the project as the months pass.

Experience and Qualifications

This section explains the history of the company and the experience of our employees. It should make you feel better about hiring our company because this section outlines our qualifications.

CK’s Lawn Caretakers have 15 years of experience mowing highways, golf courses, and parks. The company was founded in 1995. The company started mowing and decorating privately owned lawns. Since 2008, CK’s Lawn Caretakers began mowing in the commercial sector. Now, the company is made up of 90% commercial and 10% residential clients. We have been mowing 13 acres of Augusta’s Carlton Wood’s Private Golf Course for the past four years. We have also mowed Lake Shore Park for the past six years and seven miles Route 22 for the past five years.

CK’s Lawn Caretakers’ staff the safest personnel. Our 30 employees take a weeklong seminar each year to ensure that their skills are continually reinforced. All employees are trained on all the equipment the company owns. All employees are trained to mow highways, golf courses, parks, and personal lawns.

Of our 30 employees, 23 of them have been with CK’s Lawn Caretakers since 2001 or longer. The other seven have been part time positions of students that have graduates and been replaced with more students. Students are always placed on jobs with our most senior lawn caretakers so that they can learn from the best.

Safety

This section explains the safety features and qualifications the company takes to ensure the safety of people who use the lawn as well as our employees.

Safety is very important to CK’s Lawn Caretakers. We strive to have the best safety record of all our competitors. Our last accident occurred more then 10 years ago in 2002. We are the only lawn services provider that has earned the title of “Safest Company of the Year.” We have earned that title in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Every year all of our employees undergo a week of safety classes. They learn to properly use each piece of equipment owned by the company. They also take classes on safety procedures.

All employees wear Red CK’s Lawn Caretaker shirts while mowing lawns.

The picture below depicts one of our lawn caretakers mowing a lawn. You can see his red shirt and red equipment that stands out against green lawns. This is one of our safety steps that alerts people of our presence at the time we are mowing.

Route 24 Mowing (5 Miles)

This section gives specific details for mowing Route 24. It explains the equipment we would use, the days we would be mowing on, and the cost break down.

Equipment

Wide Area Rotary Mower: Suitable for large areas to mow, the 1600T comes with a high-torque powerful engine and quick height of cut adjustment.

You can see the wide area rotary mower that is efficient at mowing highways. This is the only type of mower that we would use to mow Route 24.

As you can see, this is a sturdy piece of equipment that is effective at mowing highways efficiently.

Schedule

One of our team leaders scouted out highway 24. He found that the road was least used on weekdays. The optimum time to mow the highways grass would be on Mondays in the morning. There could be interferences, like rain, that would prevent us from mowing on Mondays. In that case, we will mow on Wednesdays instead.

Augusta Memorial Golf Course Mowing (23 Acers)

This section gives specific details for mowing Augusta Memorial Golf Course. It explains the equipment we would use, the days we would be mowing on, and the cost break down.

Equipment

Triple Mowers: Our specialists for sports fields offer power and traction for all mowing conditions as well as reel cutting units for optimal cut quality.

You can see the triple mower that is efficient at mowing golf courses. This is the only type of mower that we would use to mow golf courses.

This adjustable mower is ideal for a golf course. It has a high turning radius and can be adjusted to mow at the 30mm length required by golf courses.

Schedule

One of our team leaders spoke to the grounds master at Augusta Memorial Golf Course. The optimum time to mow the golf course is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. The ground master said people do not come out to play until 9am. Because we would plan to start mowing the grass at 6am, we would be finished in time for the golfers. The optimum time to mow the courses grass would be on Tuesday in the morning. There could be interferences, like rain, that would prevent us from mowing on Tuesday. In that case, we will mow on Thursdays instead.

Willoughby Park Mowing (10 Acres)

Equipment

Comfort Rotary Mowers: Maximum comfort and productivity with low noise level and hydraulically driven decks make these rotary mowers a perfect fit for tough jobs.

In the following photo, you can see the Comfort Rotary mower. It efficiently mows large areas like parks. This is the only mower we would use to mow parks.

This lawn mower is great for parks because it is not as noisy as other lawn mowers. It will not be as big of a disturbance for park attendees.

Schedule

One of our team leaders scouted out the park. He found that people do not use the park before 11 in the morning. He also found that people are less likely to use the park on Wednesdays. The optimum time to mow the parks grass would be on Wednesdays in the morning. There could be interferences, like rain, that would prevent us from mowing on Wednesdays. In that case, we will mow on Fridays instead.
