MOOCs: (4)

(1) Master of Photography

Master of Photography: Very informative and interesting show - I learn a new skill every time I watch! Like Portrait artists if the year, the most interesting aspect of this show is ‘Interpretation’. Each Artist has a different way of working or also known as process. Try out their process of working at home – don’t be shy of using an artist’s style when completing photoshoots. It could be the approach.

Please follow the following link to source Photographers: https://theartyteacher.com/artists-themes/

I recommend looking at different artist’s styles and their ways of working before you decide a theme. Lots of ideas for a theme, but avoid making it too complicated to start. In Y12, we will be covering a lot of workshops experimenting with different skills and techniques. These will be developed digitally though Photoshop and in the darkroom.

Artist Analysis: Choose 3 photograpers

· Complete a written analysis of their work, who/what/when/where/why

· Complete a photoshoot in response to the photographer’s work

· Recreate a photoshoot – for example Edward Weston is a photographer who takes close-up black and white shots of vegetables

· Experiment with photo apps (I recommend PhotoFox), really easy to use (apply editing)

· Screenshot the process and explain your ideas

(3)CAMERA OBSCURA

Complete the following tasks:

1. Read the notes on Camera Obscura and make notes of key points

2. Watch the You Tube video and make your own Camera Obscura

3. Present your notes and the photographs of you making the camera in your journal

4. If possible, make comparisons with the image you are viewing and the image in the camera to show how it works

If you click on the picture you will find a link to how to make a pin hole camera from a Pringles container. There are many other video’s out there.
