Being able to care for your fellow human is one of the most important values you can
have as a human services professional, because if don’t care about other people you
can’t do your job. One of the biggest parts of your job as a human services profession-
als is to help those who can’t help themselves, whether the issues be that they are un-
employed, homeless, victims of abuse, and/or drug abuse.
These people need you to care because there’s a good chance no one else in their
lives cares about them. You need to be able to help them get back on their feet and on
the right track so they can have a better life for themselves.
The only way you can help someone; this is if you care.
