Insidious: Chapter 2

The Lambert family investigate the secret of the spirits that plague them in this terrifying sequel. Two years ago, Renai Lambert (Rose Byrne) and her husband Josh (Patrick Wilson) had a horrifying experience. Their young son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) slipped into a coma and had to be rescued from a demon. Today, life is peaceful for the Lambert family. They're staying with granny Lorraine (Barbara Hershey) and have a new child. But then scary things start to happen. A ghostly woman in a white dress materialises, and a strange voice is heard on the baby monitor. When psychic investigators roll their dice, these spell out the mysterious message: 'Mater Mortis'! If the Lamberts are ever to rid themselves of their unwanted connection to the spirit world, they will have to uncover its sinister origins. 'Saw' director James Wan and writer Leigh Wannell reunite for this electrifying sequel to their 2010 sleeper horror hit.

Vinne Jones- Hard and Fast

In is advert the audience is 12+. Everyone over the age of 12 should be able to understand and now know to save someone’s life whilst the ambulance is getting there.

Check him over / See if he is responsive

First of all you see is he is responsive. Shake him, Push him, do anything and if his heart is not beating he is having a Cardiac Arrest/Heart Attack

Call 999

Hands only CPR

Lock your fingers out with you knuckles face in up and push down on his/her chest.

If he’s not breathing first call 999 and do hands only CPR

This video is very effective because it easy to understand what to do and to save someone’s life step by step. The audience is anyone over the age of 10+ because baby won’t be able to understand and will help if you get into a problem like that

Sound: The song in the advert is Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees the chose this song because you should push every two beats of the song and also because of the name

Narrative: The man in this advert is called Vinnie Jones; they picked him because he speaks clearly.

Images: The images are easy to understand and have a funny twist.

Text: The text is really clear to read because it’s on a white wall with red writing the colours if the British Heart Foundation

Colour: The colour they mostly use in this advert is white and red because it is the colours of the British Heart Foundation

Sesame Street: The alphabet

Sesame Street, The alphabet is a song that helps you learn the alphabet. This video is aimed at young children aged 1-5. I think they have aimed it at young children because they are still learning the alphabet. This is because children over the age of 5 have left reception and children that have left reception should know the alphabet. The colours are bright and on a white background so they stand out. This help to show that the video is for young children.

This clip is good because it is trying to teach young children the alphabet and one of the best ways to learn stuff is by learning it as a song, and they use puppets to sing the song and most kids find it easier to listen to a puppet instead of a person when they are younger. This clip also repeats itself twice so that the children are more likely remember the alphabet if they hear it twice.

Apple TV Advert

Apple has something other adverts don’t have, they are simple and get to the point quickly and are always taken time with. You don’t really see lots of Apple adverts on the TV because the brand speaks for its-self, the only mainly see their adverts if they are releasing something new. They do this because it gets everyone talking about their new product. They don’t like having lots of music in their adverts but they sometimes include clam soft music. The people that do the narrative are the CEO and managers at Apple, this is because they want their own input into the new product and also because they speak very clearly. Apple don’t have lots of text because they want you to keep your whole mind on the phone, apart all the legal information they have to have in an advert. Even the colours are simple but effective, this is because they use very good camera angle to show how good the ‘finish’ is on the phone. The main colour in the advert is from the phone screen, again to keep you thinking about the phone.

MOV

Quick Time Movie

The video save is normally for streaming and only holds small film which allows higher quality. It is used by YouTube. It normally holds 250GB. The programme sacrifices size for the quality, The Apple products is not compatible with many other systems. But to use it on windows only if you download Quick Time you will be able to download it.

WMV

Windows Media Videos

Quite similar to AVI and MPEG. But slightly different. They can be very mixed qualities and varied file sizes. It has low quality but it can be used on lots of devices. Good for general internet use and home computing use

AVI

Audio Video Interleave

Works well on all computers

MP4 compressed

MPEG

Moving Picture Expert Group

MPEG is much better than AVI. It is widely used multimedia format. It creates video of high quality to be stored on computers. Usually MPEG files of high quality are of large size not suitable for the internet.

FLV

Flash Video

It is used for streaming online. It is not sported by Apple products and it would have to be converted to play it. Also it can be low quality sometimes.

Aspect Ratio

Aspect ratio is width times the hight of a picture frame. 4:3 is used on old movies and YouTube has 16:9 like new TV’s.

An example of 4:3 aspect ratio there are pillar blockers on the video, these are in place because if there weren’t the pillars on the side the image/video would look distorted.

An example of 16:9 aspect ratio is there’s not borders it’s just one big picture (widescreen) this allows there to be more picture to view

If you try and view a 16:9 image on a 4:3 screen the image would be much taller and skinnier than it should be.

What happens if you view a 4.3 image on a 16.9 screen? Also if you watch a 4:3 image on a 16:9 screen you will have some pillars on each side and it’s not wide that side so will have them each side.

Resolution:

Resolution is meant by the detail which an image or a video has the higher resolution is more detailed the picture is.

720x480 is a lower picture quality and 1920x1080 is HD

NTSC – national TV system committee

PAL – phase alteration by line

HD – high definition

Which countries use NTSC? Chile Cuba japan

Which countries use PAL? Hong Kong Italy Jordan

Year 10 Video

Specification:

· Audience - The audience is 12+ years that are into thriller/mystery. And also because the success criteria says that its 12 certificate. This means there can be no prohibited language or any sexual sense for this type of age group. (There wouldn’t be any to start off with)

· Purpose – Is to advertise the film and persuade the public to go and watch it because if there is not movie trailer then no one will know it has been released. And publicize the genre of the film. I will upload the trailer to YouTube and make posters to also advertise the movie.

· Genre – Thriller/Murder/Mystery. The plan says we have to do these types of themes about the trailer. It will be a jumpy trailer with dark scenes going into quick/short videos and will end on a cliff hanger.

· Key Features:

1. Timing – The timing of the video has a minimum of one minute long, short video clips per slide so the audience doesn’t get bored of the trailer and so it fits the purpose, and doesn’t give too much of the movie away. Also I would film it with a tri-pod so none of the clips are blurry.

2. Text – The text one the slide will be describing the video clip to help people understand and for deaf people there would be subtitles.

3. Titles – There will be the name of the film and its release date and all the sponsorships also some of its casts and the director.

4. Transitions – I will put in some transitions into the trailer because it will make it more interesting for the audience and set the scene.

5. Credits – The credits are going to be at the end of the video so show who made it and the people in it.

6. Music – In the movie trailer there will be a horror style music theme, I will use this type because it will make more of a scary and spooky atmosphere to the audience.

· Equipment:

1. Camera – We need a camera to film video clips and to take pictures for our trailer.

2. Tri-Pod – A tri-pod so the video clips are shaky and blurry.

3. Mouse – You need it to edit your videos and work on your video.

4. Keyboard – you type the credits and the title etc

5. Serif Movie Plus – Because that is the software we are going to use when we are editing and exporting our movie trailer. We are using serif because it’s easy to navigate and simple to work on you video. And also you can add transitions and sound.

6. White face masks – a mask gives a more of a murder look and a scary atmosphere.

7. Mobile phone – We would need this to show the apps and what the whole trailer is about.

8. Black Jacket – We would put this on the actor of the murder so they will be unknown and hidden.

9. Computer Monitor – To see what we are doing when it comes to working on the computer.

10. Tower – To be able to save your work and upload you and also it’s the main part of any computer.

· File Format - I will use MP4 because it has the best quality and small file size also it can be played on a smart phone which reaches our success criteria.

· Legislation – Video or Images you are not allowed to use in your own work because someone has copyright over them which means they own everything about it and you will have to ask for the permission to use it in your own work.

I will try and avoid breaking copyright laws by making my own videos and using images without copyright on it also make my produce my own music. Copyright is there so people can protect their work; that person doesn’t want other people to be able to use it without their permission. I will use music that has no copyright laws and free to use and share.

These are my dates for my ‘Post4wd’ project. I will try and do everything on time so I have no homework and make sure I don’t have to work at home. If I miss a lesson I will have to catch up in my own time and get it up to date so I don’t fall behind on everything else.
