Matchbook Book Report Instructions: Materials: File Folder “Matchbook Papers” – approximately 3.5” x 6” pieces of white construction paper o The number you will need depends on the number of chapters in your book. 20 matchbooks fit well on the inside of the file folder. Directions: After completing each chapter, gets a "matchbook paper." Fold the bottom "tab" up about 1/2 inch. The top side then gets folded down until it lines up with the crease from the tab. Make sure all your papers are folded as similar as possible. One the outside of the matchbook, draw and color your favorite scene from that chapter. On the inside of the matchbook, write a summary of the chapter. Summary should be 5-7 sentences, no more, no less. Pick and choose the most important events to include in your summaries. Add the finishing touches by decorating the cover of the file folder. Suggestions: Store your matchbooks in a Ziploc bag while you are working on them. Don’t glue them into the folder until all the matchbooks are complete. If your book has more than 20 chapters, you might want to double up your chapters on your matchbook. On the other side, if your book has less than 20 chapters, you may need to create more than one matchbook for your chapters. Examples:
