A digital audio workstation that allows you to create your own sounds and audio which are usually used for backing trackings.

In this guide, we will be looking at how to add already made backing audios and altering them to suit a video which has no sound.

When first opening the app, you’ll be met with a menu with various option to pick from like songwriter, hip-hop etc. However, to be original and make it unique, click on “empty project”.

As you cannot take sounds that may be copyrighted, you’re welcome to use the website www.freesound.org. It has sounds that you can take as they are free. Once you have downloaded your chosen sound, you have to either upload it to the software or drag it from your downloads. It should appear in a sidebar on the right, that has all your sounds.

To add the audio onto the video, simply drag it onto the timeline at the top. If you want shorten the sound you want to edit, all you have to do is click onto the sound where you want to cut it and a red arrow like shape will appear which will allow you to extend or shorten it.

Now, to change and alter the sound, you must go onto the other sidebar located on the left hand side. It should have all the sounds you are editing in it. Click on the button labeled “R” and a frequency table of the sound should appear.

Using the frequency table, you can change the pitch of the sound to make it more suitable and realistic as a backing audio for your video.Have a play around to get familiar with the different pitches that can alter your sound and suits best for you and continue to follow these steps to do the same with all your other sounds.

Saving your work is very easy. Click on file and select import, you’ll be brought to a side drop down menu, where you select audio file.

Logic Pro is a very easy and useful way of making songs, making backing tracks and is becoming even more increasingly popular as many people are using it.
