Dear Applicant RE: Fundraising Manager Home-Start Oldham, Stockport & Tameside (HOST) and Home-Start Manchester are registered charities that provide support to families with at least one child under the age of 5. We are part of a network of over 300 independent Home-Start schemes that support families throughout the UK and in British Forces in Germany and Cyprus. All Home-Start schemes are responsible for their own governance and for their own funding, which means that all schemes operate in a similar way but have the ability to respond to local need. Home-Start is an early intervention service and we provide support to families by recruiting, training and supporting volunteers (who themselves must have parenting experience) to visit families in their own homes for 2-3 hours a week for as long as needed. Volunteers are carefully matched to a family and the process is monitored and regularly reviewed by paid staff (Family Support Co-ordinators). Co-ordinators also provide regular support and supervision to volunteers. We also deliver a number of more targeted services to families. HOST and Home-Start Manchester have been through a period of growth and change over the last several years in an effort to develop a wider range of services that help us to meet the needs of families and that will contribute to our on-going development and sustainability. We have a formal partnership agreement and intend to work more closely together over the coming months and years and we are now looking to appoint a Fundraising Manager to work across both organisations. Dear Applicant

RE: Fundraising Manager

Home-Start Oldham, Stockport & Tameside (HOST) and Home-Start Manchester are registered charities that provide support to families with at least one child under the age of 5.

The post holder will be based at and employed by HOST but will be tasked with diversifying the income of both charities and for seeking joint funding opportunities where appropriate.

HOST is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and an enhanced DBS check.

We have a committed and enthusiastic staff and volunteer team and we are keen to welcome the right person who can help us to shape HOST and Home-Start Manchester in order to capitalise on the fantastic work we do with local families.

More information on our work can be found at www.home-starthost.org.uk or for more information on the Home-Start network please see www.home-start.org.uk.
