This project involves a free day-long choral festival to mark the 80th anniversary in 2019 of the Australian Boys Choir involving the local community. The event would be held at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. During the day, open rehearsals will be held, there will be workshops open to local school and community choirs, and professional development sessions for local music teachers.

This project involves engaging City of Boroondara primary school children to participate in a specially designed game of softball or T-ball to create awareness of the symptoms of stroke. Following the game the children would become ‘Stroke Ambassadors’ and invite their parents, family and friends to undertake a Stroke Quiz educating the respondents about stroke. Representatives from all the participating local primary schools would then be invited to an event at the Hawthorn Arts Centre to receive their ‘Stroke Ambassador’ certificate.

Goalball For All This project involves introducing City of Boroondara residents to a disability sport that was designed for people with low vision, Goalball, through a series of come and try days held at Scotch College. Schools, community groups and service providers will be invited to participate in the sessions. Following the come and try days a development weekend would be organised for both players and volunteers, such as referees, scorers and time keepers, to learn more about Goalball and build on their skills.

Funding will be used to design, produce and print advertising materials, hold a marketing workshop, purchase equipment, referee and athlete costs for the development weekend and catering.

Skate & Connect This project involves Junction Skate and BMX Park working with an independent local Boroondara school for children with language and learning difficulties to provide an eight week program teaching skateboarding, park etiquette and safety. The initial four weeks will focus on running the program sessions at the school teaching skate etiquette, safety elements and beginner skate skills. During the second four weeks, students will integrate into an external setting away from the school at Junction Skate and BMX Park.
