Assignments for the week of April 13th

Religion:

We will continue to work with Chapter 15: Jesus Suffered and Died for Us. Read and complete pages 135-136. When your child is ready, have them take the Chapter 15 quiz without any help from a parent or their Religion book. Please take a picture of the page and send it to me through Class Dojo.

Math:

We will begin Chapter 10: Time, Length, Liquid Volume, and Mass. Please get your new Chapter 10 Math book and complete page 559 problems 1-6 on you own. Please take a picture of the page and send it to me through Class Dojo.

Complete lesson 10.1: Time to the Minute (Pages 561-566). With page 565, the students should do problems 2-6 like problem number 1. They can skip problem 11 on page 565. At the bottom of this assignment sheet, is a large analog clock that your child can use to help them with the lesson. Feel free to use Think Central to see the Math on the Spot video for the lesson. Finally, your child may use Math IXL: Section T: 1-3 as extra practice.

Complete lesson 10.2: A.M. and P.M. (Pages 567-572). With page 571, the students can skip problem 11. Your child may use the large analog clock that is at the bottom of the assignment sheet to help them with the problems. Feel free to use Think Central to see the Math on the Spot video for the lesson. Finally, your child may use Math IXL: Section T: 4-5 as extra practice.

Please take a picture of pages 565-566 and 571-572 and send them to me through Class Dojo.

You can practice your multiplication and division facts by using X-tra Math. When you complete a section, let me know so I can move you on.

English:

This week, the concept is over Subject and Object Pronouns. Page 488 from the Reading/Writing Workshop book is an excellent resource. There is also a game on the Wonders website over this as well. Please complete the Subject and Object pages that are on the bottom of this assignment sheet on their own. Please take a picture of them and send it to me through Class Dojo.

Spelling:

The words this week are words with the Inflectional Endings of –ed, -ing, and -s. Practice writing the words on page 127. Do pages 128-130. The students will have a spelling test this

week. When your child is ready, please give them a spelling test using the words on page 127. They may write the words on a plain sheet of paper. Please take a picture of the test and send it to me through Class Dojo.

Phonics:

Concepts for the week will be Inflectional Endings and Suffixes –ful, -less, and -able. There are games on the Wonders website that will cover these concepts. Do Your Turn page 218 on your own. Please take a picture of it and send it to me.

Reading:

Read pages 346-347 from your Reading/Writing Workshop book over the vocabulary words. The vocabulary words are at the bottom of this assignment sheet. Complete Your Turn page 211. There is a vocabulary game on the Wonders website to help with learning the words.

Read: The New Hoop on pages 348-351 from your Reading/Writing Workshop book.

Read page 353 from the Reading/Writing Workshop book over the Comprehension Skill of Point of View. Complete Your Turn pages 213-215.

Read page 355 from the Reading/Writing Workshop book over Homographs. Complete Your Turn page 217.

Read the story: Bravo, Tavo from your big reading book. The story is on pages 390-409. I would like you to complete the vocabulary test paper and the Comprehension paper for the story on your own without any help. These pages are at the bottom of the assignment sheet. You can send me a picture of the Comprehension pages and Vocabulary paper on Class Dojo. If you wish to take an AR test over the book, you can. Here is the information:

Health:

With this assignment sheet, you will find a paper with My Plate written on it. I would like the students to draw and color with crayons or markers a picture of a healthy meal. This will be a health grade as well as an art grade. I would like each student to write a paragraph at the bottom of that paper over what their healthy meal is and the food group that it is in. Please do

this neatly since it is also for an art grade. Please take a picture of it and send it to me through Class Dojo.
