08.24.18 “Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A ‘you can do it’ when things are tough.” - Richard M. DeVos Dear AHS Parents, Our students have 10 more days of summer vacation before we kick off a BRAND NEW school year! They have the chance to set last year behind them and develop new goals and objectives for this upcoming school year. The young men and women of Anderson High School have a chance to “reinvent” themselves, in a sense. They have a new schedule, with new teachers, and will wrestle with new content and concepts. And really, if you think about it, what an incredible opportunity we all have to start FRESH this year. Our teachers are excitedly awaiting the opportunity to challenge these great students in different ways than they’ve done in the past. They’re constantly striving to be better than we once were. They have been working hard throughout the summer planning new and innovative learning experiences for their classes. They are eager to develop even more authentic relationships with the new students who enroll in their classes. They are READY! Parents, too, have a chance to start fresh. I would encourage all of our parents to spend some good, quality time with their sons and daughters over the course of this week. Remind them how PROUD you are of them. ENCOURAGE them to be the best they can possibly be this year. ASK FORGIVENESS from them for the ways in which you fell short last year (let’s be honest, we ALL fall short from time to time and our kids deserve better!). And, most importantly, let them know how much you LOVE them. These high school years go by quickly. We blink, and they’re off on their own. This year, let’s commit once again to treating our kids the best possible way we know how. We take this seriously at Anderson High School because it matters. Every. Day. Have a GREAT weekend! Rob

- Richard M. DeVos

Dear AHS Parents,

Our students have 10 more days of summer vacation before we kick off a BRAND NEW school year!

Rob

P.S. HUGE shout-out to our AHS Orchestra for finishing up camp this week and a successful Preview Concert last night!!

FROM THE COUNSELORS:While change is exciting, we understand that it can sometimes come with questions as well. As we integrate two new school counselors, we know many students will have a different counselor this year. If you and your student feel it is necessary to ease this transition, a meeting can be arranged with you, your student, your student's new counselor, and your student's previous counselor. Please contact your student's new counselor in order to discuss options for a conversation regarding the transition. PARKING INFORMATION:GENERAL:Seniors and Juniors interested in purchasing a student parking pass should view the appropriate link below for information about date, time, location, and instructions for each grade level's parking pass lottery.
