Job Description and Person Specification
Job Details:
Salary: £25,595 (+ fuel costs between sites)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, 37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Contract type: full-time, 1265 hours over 195 days, permanent
Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher
This job will suit a teacher who is motivated by coaching young people to be the best version of themselves. The students we work with are those considered hard to reach and young people who have struggled to ‘fit in’ within mainstream school, therefore their learning journey is highly personalised and supportive of their wellbeing. Sessions are delivered through one-to-one sessions and small group work sessions.
Responsibilities will be:
To manage the coordination of English Language and Literature across CMAS Schools in Devon. This will cover an array of Functional Skills, KS3 through to KS4, to provide personalised English lessons that support, stretch and challenge our students to progress. To guide and support our learning mentors to deliver enriched, motivating English sessions and support their subject knowledge.
1. To deliver a bespoke curriculum relevant to each young person.2. To support and develop the whole child, not just their academic development but to help
them with their wellbeing, personal care, social, emotional and mindfulness.3. To implement staff and student timetables.4. To plan for nurturing and educational opportunities relevant and personalised to the young
person’s strengths and interests. 5. To liaise and guide learning mentors with supporting their young person emotionally,
socially and academically.6. To provide high quality teaching that motivates, inspires, supports and challenges young
people.7. To assess each individual’s learning and wellbeing journey.8. To record and report on the progress each pupil makes within the structure of the school's
curriculum, ensuring a cyclical process of planning, evaluation and assessment.9. To provide a wide range of teaching and learning styles to ensure pupil progress and
achievement.10. To ensure a high standard of pupil work, attitude and behaviour integrated with a high
expectation and mindfulness approach.

11. To attend annual Performance Development Review.12. To take part, as may be required, in the review, development and management of activities
related to the curriculum, organisation and pastoral functions of the school.13. To travel between our school sites, when required.14. To ensure the safety of pupils at all times.15. To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
throughout the school.16. Adhere to H&S requirements, including completion of risk assessments.
