Prospective partnership activities between National Star and ADIMC74

Work skills training

There are good opportunities for young people aged 16 - 19 to undertake reciprocal transition to work. Programmes. This would involve a one week work programme in each organisation based around learning defined work skills  and developing use of English and French. Funding from the British  Council   Lefevre  programme  would   give   each   organisation  up   to   £5000   each   to   fund   a programme.   This   will   be   appropriate   for   learners   at  l’institut   Guillaume   Belluard.   Application deadline is 19th May in 2015 and will be a similar deadline each year.

At   National   Star   our   International  Work   skills   programme   gives   participants   from   France   the opportunity  to spend 5 weeks   in  the UK  living  with a host   family,  working with   job coaches  at National Star and working in a UK Company. There is also opportunities to improve English language skills   during   the   placement.  We   currently   successfully   run   the   programme   for   students   from Germany. The cost for each student is €4485. (Brochure attached). In Germany, for example, funds

for   students   placements   are   secured   through   application   to   the   education  ministry   (LVR)   and additional funds are fundraised by the partner school.

Curriculum working partnerships

There  is  an opportunity  to develop a curriculum partnership through an Erasmus+ Key Action 1 programme.  We  are   currently   seeking   a   partner   to   create   a   student   exchange  programme   to develop   sports   leadership   skills  with   young  people  with  disabilities.  Oliver  Gachet,  manager  at l’institut   Guillaume   Belluard   is   interested   in   developing   an   exchange   programme   and   further correspondence will develop this idea further.

Staff Development

There   are   a   number   of   staff   development   opportunities   between  National   Star   and  ADIMC74 concerning   staff   development.   Erasmus+   Key  Action   2   funding  will   give   opportunities   for   staff between the two institutions to develop share best practice through innovation and exchange. There are   clear   similarities   between   organisations   and   a   reciprocal   visit   to   develop   particular   staff development   programmes   will   be   sought   relevant   managers   at   ADIMC74.   Opportunities   for teachers, support staff, care workers and therapy professionals to work together on short exchange visits are possible.

National Star is currently delivering a specialist teaching programme to up skill  teachers who are working  with  a   range  of   learners  who  particular   disabilities.   This  programme  is  design   to  give teachers the specialist teaching skills in order that they can best meet the learning needs of their learners. We are delivering the programme in the UK and training trainers to deliver the programme across Europe. (see attached brochure).

Through the E-Twinning partnership between Cheltenham and Annecy there is an opportunity each year   for   two professionals  under   the  age of  35   to  undertake a  two week placement  within an organisation in Annecy as part of the E Twinning programme. The placement is fully funded by the E Twinning programme. ADIMC would be a perfect work place for teachers from National Star to work. Placements usually take place in July and August.
